Koenigsegg?

Shockingly unreliable
No dealer support
Very expensive
It's not a Zonda

I think the main problem with it is the fact it's ugly as sin I always struggle to figure out which end is the front which is the back, all subjective of course but I'd have a Zonda 100 times over a koeniggsegg just on looks alone
Just doesn't do anything for me in the poster pin up department sure its a weapon but boy it's no looker

I think they're great cars and just as importantly, the owner appears hugely passionate about his own product. It's not just about $'s for him and it shows.

I guess those that buy these do so because they are exclusive and different, and like driving a car that a footballer or Kuwaiti prince (or indeed most CEOs that the OP refers to) would probably crash.

They have played around with the interiors since in the shadow of pagani, whereas the one I went out in some years ago was really good - no frills, mostly a black and carbon interior and felt very fighter jetish with the wraparound screen.

For those who have opened the bodywork and seen the engine bay of an F40 this feels similar - you'll be lost looking at nice parts for ages. While neither points make a car worth considering over so many others they do add to the appeal.

I like the way that Christian Von Koenigsegg's head resembles an egg.

And I don't really like the Agera R, it looks too blingy and football trainer-esque. Prefer pagani generally, although the two companies are hardly comparable.

The Koenigsegg has always divided opinion. Personally I have been critical about the early cars build quality but with the company having recently built its 100th car the quality can now happily be compared with Pagani’s products.
Christian is a very clever guy considering he was never trained as an engineer with his cars continuing to innovate in various areas. But the cars have always suffered in the shadow of Pagani particularly when it comes to resale value where the depreciation on one has been even worse than the Veyron.
The Eggs are mega fast in a straight line but have yet to really prove themselves on the track. Also the almost complete lack of credible “Road” tests has not helped their cause.
Up until recently Koenigsegg have also failed to capitalise on the use of good PR, which Pagani has been a master of over the years. This has allowed him to crate a brand that he recently turned down over £200 million for, which is not bad considering he owns 94% of the company, Koenigsegg only owns 49% of his.
I have debated the whole Koenigsegg thing a number of times on the web with some people getting very vicious in their defence. At the end of the day it is a very niece product in a niece sector so is only ever likely to appeal to a certain customer. God bad or indifferent I am glad it exists

I think the Koenigsegg is a work of art, a boy's dream come true, just like the Zonda was Horacio's childhood dream.
Therefore I feel very sorry to see that Paganis fetch a premium secondhand and Koenigsegg depreciate like crazy. Both these wonderful machines deserve much credit, although I understand why Paganis are more popular.
I just wish K'eggs would be a little more popular too....

Love these. The whole deal is just great. Some dude that got a degree in car design then decided to start himself up and after getting enough investment, built his first car. Since then, the over all shape hasn't actually changed that much. But the refinements here and there make a big difference, I think the Agera R looks great. It's everything a super car should be too. Crazy looks, silly power, exotic materials and a massive price tag. Pretty exclusive too.

Some of the solutions they found when you are small car company just starting out were great. Especially like the way they got round sourcing interior buttons from other car makers to make sure they kept a premium quality feel for the interior.

If I'm honest, I'd prefer mine in Black or natural Carbon Fibre, but that is a minor quibble with an amazing car!

For you maybe, but that's the thing with choice. We don't all like the same.

I'd take a Koenigsegg as I find the Zonda too chintzy.

I saw a CCX a few years ago near the nurburgring, we were there on motorbikes and I'd stopped to turn round when I heard an angry roar behind me.

The noise it made was totally epic, bearing in mind that I was wearing a helmet with earplugs and sitting on a race canned Triumph. It's the only one I've ever seen but it was being driven hard on amazing roads.

Lottery win car for me. I'd fly to Sweden to collect and drive back.
