People like different things, in no way I'm saying that parking a uninsured car up a tree is right, but the difference between a burn out and going for a hoon is exactly 0.
Oh dear god.

I think we have a troll.

Good to hear noone is injured... Curious though, why do a runner? Surely the owner is easily traceable from the car's reg/details? With witnesses there's no way to lie saying your car was stolen too?

What kind of cretin goes and meets a bunch of internet anorak's in a car park to talk about their boy racer cars?

Don't people grow out of this sort of stuff by the time they hit 19 or 20? If the guy who crashed had been a 19 year old driving a Saxo, how different would the reaction be?

Embarrassment?

Natural reaction at first I would have thought when a crowd was prob running over to have a look.

Looking on Facebook, looks like the owner may of had 2 cars there

Just read this on FB as well, but wasn't there so can't comment.

For those who was actually present and saw what happened, unless your eyes are blurry then you'd know that he accelerated like the rest in a straight line, maybe a little quick but hardly flooring it then as he saw the police car that was parked in a rather bad place with no lights on, pull out around it, it hit the dust, gripped and it went from there onwards grass, dirt and tree bound. People have been driving alot worse for years, the mixture between a bad placed police car and loss of grip then grip caused this. Jesus last year we had people actually drifting out, its just bad luck

Every event I've been to, regardless of location, type or value of car, where there's an audience, there's drivers happy to try and show what they have.
Nice quote - looks like someone is trying to pin the blame on the police? If the police car is badly parked why only the Mustang suffered the unfortunate encounter with a tree? Why do a runner? I'm sadly intrigued by this...

This isn't what happens at Malton.

No, just an ignorant moron too stupid to understand what he is saying.

I suspect he meets his car buddies for 100metre drag races around the retail park, there is a place for driving at or near the limits of your car, these places are built for the purpose and aren't exactly secret.

So he was "accelerating", in a "straight line", when he comes across this police car and ends up crashing it as he tries to drive around it? Why did none of the other cars come a cropper? Why didn't the Mustang driver take action earlier, like not accelerating towards the police car?

Well, I don't think that story will stack up with the insurers. As far as unlikely tales used to explain incompetence / shift blame etc, this is up there with the least believable.

Surely finding a deserted retail park is better than going for hoon/burnout with people around?

From reading a few posts on the Facebook wall, it looks like the chap who posted that knows the Mustang driver/owner so will be sticking up for his mate

I didn't see the crash so couldn't comment on exactly how it happened.

Hopefully he is not the one who got punched laugh

Sad turn of events but doing a runner is just stupid when there's so many witnesses - especially with rozzers being there too.

At the moment my mustang insurance is quite cheap, £290, big claims like that put the price up for everyone. Traffic cops quite often turn up at our meets, last month they parked right in the middle of our car park and nicked 3 people for illegally spaced letters on number plates.
