George Michael involved in crash M1
Discussion
What do we think George pays annually for his car insurance?
I've just asked an underwriter I know and he didn't even want to hazard a guess, but said it would be over ten thousand pounds. There is the option of lodging half a million quid with the Procurator Fiscal to self-insure, so he might be doing that I suppose.

Suicide attempt?
Entirely possible - the doors autolock, so although you can open from the inside, it takes a determined effort. Mind you, I don't believe he fell out at 70mph, as claimed in The Sun; having fallen off motorbikes more times than I care to remember, I'd say a 70mph fall without protective clothing would probably be fatal. If you were really lucky, you'd get away with just massive road rash.
A 40-50mph slide down the road (wearing jeans and a good bike jacket) saw me needing skin and bone grafts. My boots were pretty well destroyed, and my jacket was worn thin in places. I was obviously wearing a helmet, but that got damaged irreperably. Gloves were ok, but I had a couple of broken fingers.
I suspect that the vehicle was braking and that he fell out at a much lower speed, otherwise I just don't see how he's got away with what appear to be a few bumps and scrapes. I'm pleased he's alive, but I fear for his mental health.
Lets say GM is trying to open the door. (For reasons unknown). The driver fearing he may manage to get out stands on the brakes. This has the effect of throwing the now unlatched door "forward", and as GM is holding the handle, he exits the vehicle and is dragged along a bit (holding the handle) before losing his grip. All the time the vehicle is getting slower so not 70mph when he came lose. But would also explain how he lost his trainers as they hit the ground when the car was going the fastest.

Yep, that's a possibility.Still makes you wonder about the sanity of someone who decides to climb out of a car travelling at speed on a motorway. Sad to say that GM's one of those people who I think will never see old age.
I hope he's Ok, however, stunned and horrified at the lack of careless with his whisper cracks in the thread.
Maybe he was careless with his whisper, dropped the chocolate bar, while searching for his whisper in the foot well, grabbed door handle, door flies open (with GM attached) Whisper bar flies from car, he leaves in pursuit of careless whisper?
I'll get me coat.....
