Also worth noting I was doing about 10 mph down Union Street in Aberdeen when the bang happend - hardly hooning territory! The car has a fairly easy life, 95% of my driving is on A roads / motorways and I don't drive it that hard. Certainly no harder than my previous cars and they have all coped fine!
Is your handbrake all OK? Backplates etc?Are you getting any noise in reverse?
One side has been re built, and the noise did sound like it was coming from the other side. Fingers crossed it is just that! I wasn't using the handbrake when it happened though.
Booked into the garage on Thursday morning so we will find out then! I will keep you updated.

The 'clown shoe' tag only applies to the hatch though I think. It's 'Noddy's Car' for the coupe. I prefer the coupe to the hatch
Regardless, the first-gen 1er has always looked ferkin' stupid in profile. Which is a shame, because the cooking models were a cracking steer.I like them. I need to sample a non-airboxed s54.
Was quick enough but didn't feel that fast. Sounded bloody nice.
E46 ///M with the CSL airbox mod would be pretty epic.

My IR 330i is a great steer considering its several iterations back, and although its the 230hp M54, pulls well enough most of the time.
Do any lsds fit in this axle? I'm tempted to liberate the airbox, one of the main reasons for the 330 was the sound of the 6cyl.
Thought about the E46 330i Olly? Good value.
Does the E46 M3 have split folding rear seats? if so, problem solved: Dog aperture, space for child seat and wife in front. Comfy, respectable and brisk.

A supercharged one?
Sound great, hilarious fun, thirsty as hell.
I averaged 26.5mpg in my JCW (supercharged) over the 2.5 years I had it. Very hard to drive without a heavy foot as the sound just makes you want to push the loud peddle more and more. Miss it a bit to be honest, cracking little car.Sound great, hilarious fun, thirsty as hell.
