I still have a whole bag full of Hotwheels cars i used to collect. They are about 10-15 years old now. (im 19)

My favorite was a bay window camper i had when i was about 5. It was 1/18th scale. I loved it, and would run about with it all day. Sadly my mum wasn't about to stop me when i dropped my car into the gas fire to see what would happen. Turns out the pillars for the roof melt, an you get a chop top bay window laugh My mum came running in just after the roof had caved in, an had to fish it out, then threw it in the bin. I was then told about the dangers of fire. I learnt a lot that day. cry

The problem was that i got close to filling a box and a joblot would come up

for sale and so i would then have to start another box.

I once bought 26 off one Ebay seller,i missed one car in his auctions that someone else

outbid me on.

I HAVE stopped buying them....yes

Just dug this out of the loft, I have had it since I was 10 about 34 years and it still works.

The only toy to survive, I loved it

I've got upwards of 200 Matchbox cars (the small ones) in the carry cases in the loft, plus a few larger ones.

I thought my mum threw them out but they've been kept in the attic.

The ones I were really fond of was a green Datsun (Nissan)240Z, red Talbot Rancho and yellow Triumph TR7 - I was too young and oblivious but I used to love those cars as a kid.

Not pictures of mine unfortunately but these two set me up for a lifetime of debt and marital discord due to my obsession with all things car and bike.

I also had a dozen of those MkII Escorts - I guess they must have been part of a Shell promotion?

All my matchbox went years ago. Though the boy has the truck my grandad built for me - not doing bad for a 35 year old DIY project smile

You guys have great taste biggrin

I remember the first ever small car my Dad ever bought me. I was standing at a twirly wire rack full of Matchbox cars and chose the red Mini HaHa. So cool!

I also had a blue Baja Bouncer. The most fun tiny car ever! Other playground essentials back then were...

Black TransAm
White Lotus Esprit
Silver DB5
White 205 Rally car

And the best of all...

Schaper Stompers!

This is one of the early models. These were the fastest in the playground races. Mainly due to slimmer lightweight foam tyres. To make them faster we also removed the light bulbs, battery cover, body trim, turned the 4x4 transmission into RWD (removing a worm gear) and popped in a new Duracell for maximum BHP hehe Trimming the foam tyres was also an option. The later Rough Riders were too heavy with clumsy rubber tyres.
