It is almost the same as hogging the outside lane and given the new legislation this year, I suppose you could technically fall foul of this but I agree it's very unlikely, especially as most bus lanes are in 30 zones

Fair enough. It is a driving test fail if you inconvenience another whilst not using an available bus lane, if appropriate. I guess it could be seen as a due care offence, but I agree it's very unlikely to be prosecuted.

I can understand the driving test scenario, and to be honest I would probably fail. I drive in London quite a bit and I very rarely use the bus lanes along with most other drivers.

Even if you are allowed to, you often get hassled by bus and black cab drivers who see them as their lanes and make it clear they don't want you to be there.

Has anyone actually been prosecuted for not using them I wonder.
