Good for you fella. Keep working hard, make lots of cars, pay your taxes and spend BMW's profits in your local community please.

Carry on. smile

And after just two weeks of ownership, I officially own the old model of MINI. hehe I like the look of it, though - I'm waiting for the JCW GP in, ooh, about six years' time. biggrin

Car gets uglier each time, along with the size thing.

I'd have bought the first one, and may buy a second hand one at some point, don't really like the second but it's still OK, but this thing is hideous IMO.

Hopefully this will mean that Morgan will be able to update the headlights on the Aero sportscar to a more recent Mini headlight and make that car a bit better looking.

They still use headlights from the second generation BINI.

Looks like its got a blackberry Fruit Gum stuck in its mouth.

I think the Honda Civic pioneered the look. Didn't think it would catch on but then that's why the marketeers get the big bucks!

The most exciting of all 2014 cars? You must know everything that's coming out then from all marques!
Corrected for you:

"I work for MINI and by far the most exciting product to Hit 2014 in the MINI factory!!"

Gemma Atkinson riding me cowgirl would be completely awesome and mindblowing. Reading specs and technology is so so. biggrin

Looking at the press release the word optional is used an awful lot which suggests the £19K price of the Cooper S will get to early/mid £20s without a great deal of effort and I really don't understand the need to make it bigger. Is it now going to be reclassified from a supermini to a hatch because its almost the same size as the previous Golf which is ridiculous.

+1

"BMW know what they're doing".... no...BMW are bought by a minority of people who appreciate some of the finer cars on the planet...and the rest/majority bought by badge engineere'd sheep... BMW have made plenty of mistakes, yet they get away with them better than most/all of the rest..

This iteration of MINI goes a further step along the bigger, uglier route. Very sad.

This is further proof that pedestrian impact rules are destroying car design. look how bloody high that front end is.
Remember that thought if you are ever unlucky enough to be bouncing off the bonnet of an estate agent's new car....

If you crash in one, yes.

Its not their fault there are so many crash tests to pass.

Does the Smart car and Aygo, IQ thing not meet the new regs?
Are 'we' really suggesting this is the smallest BMW could have engineered this car to meet the crash regs?

2.0 turbo four on a Mini? I don't like this "approaching" trend on displacement. The new M3 goes down from 4.0 to 3.0 and the new Mini goes up from 1.6 to 2.0? Why? And what engine is it? I hope it will be more sporty than the unit in the 328, fast but dull and not happy to rev and it got 240hp...

True, profit rules, so they can make any old st knowing it will sell...if enough of their catalogue is good/high quality they can make some duff looking stuff and remain on track...

Looks huge in the photos. Saw one of the M25 at the weekend covered in that mule/test car camoflage tape and wrap (could tell it was the new model due to the halo lights on the front). Didn't look any larger than the current mini on the road but some of the proportions in the photos just look a bit... off?

Well we've owned two Cooper S and their cracking cars.

And they have been a huge success by any measure, so no matter how much vitriol you may want to throw at them, fact is they sell well and people like them. This makes them right.
