There is nothing stty about a 996 turbo.........maybe the headlights, that's it.
This. Those headlights are a disaster. In 8.5 year's and 120,000ish miles I've never got angry with another driver or let another driver agitate me. I've seen my fair share of fkwits too, once or twice I may have even been the fkwit to other drivers I'm sure. I just let them get on with it though. Behind the wheel of a car is not the best place to lose ones temper.

If you are keeping up with a high performance car in your van or smart on public roads then trust me they are not racing you, probably being a bit twaatish by dabbing their throttle to stop you overtaking, but not racing.

I wish I could share your zen like calm!

Every Friday evening driving on the A12 back to London is rage inducing for me.

I'm middle aged. I overtook a guy on a Triumph the other day when I was in my car. He was all over the place and bolt upright with locked arms.
WHAT!!!?

I would never have had you as middle aged. I thought you were retired. wink

Not to me. I run rings around so-called performance cars in my company van all the time: oh yeah they can give it beans when the road is straight but show them a bend or a roundabout and the Connect just rips them a new ahole.
I love the A43 biggrin
Because your driving a company van worth nothing to you, and the majority of these cars are worth considerably more than 50 quid... But well done another Fangio of the van world.

To you folk posting about keeping up with super cars in your smarts/transits etc - they're not racing you and were probably totally oblivious to your presence.

Sorry :-(

Well there's a surprise

Thread needs new title - "Knob comes across another knob when out for a drive",

knob 2 actually has a decent car so knob 1 is upset and has had his manhood diminished.

I think we can all learn a lesson here - don't post rants on PH when wound up! I find a nice cup of tea puts things into perspective. hehe

My only car is a Cayman, and sometimes I just need to drive it to the supermarket past a dozen speed cameras on the A3. I get more than my share of wannabe-heroes wanting to prove something when all I want to do is overtake a bus while keeping somewhere near the 50mph limit...

Still, it's not as bad as my old car, which was a 996 with a rollbar and 6 point harness, and seemed to attract every traffic light racer in a 50 mile radius! biggrin

Hello you lot, I posted this a few days ago, got busy at work and completely forgot about it til now.

Actually, I posted this as a (admittedly poor) attempt at a humourous rant...which I now know never to do again

Definitely am not jealous of the 996T, which is a lovely car i"m sure, just not my sort of car. A well-sorted MX-5 makes me jealous, and of course GT3s, and so forth, but not a chav-spec (lowered to where the top of the tyre is obscured by wheelwell, pitch-black windows) 996T thank you very much smile

And yes I am a tt but I'm trying to get better and not be such a bellend DanielSan, and 7mike Vettel is taking lessons from me wink

So you're ranting about the way this guy was driving, weaving in and out of traffic, but then you say you kept up with him, which would indicate that you were also driving like a bellend?
