Thank you. I mean it. smile You wouldn't believe how many small minded people I get who can't get it to stop at .00 think that I get the pumps to do it on purpose and I'm ripping them off! They don't realise how small 1p worth of fuel is these days.
I've even put a bowl on the counter full of pennies with a sign saying "Don't worry about the odd penny, if you've gone over have one on us."

The staff on the forecourt have been primed so that if anyone accuses me of thieving their penny, they are to call me so that I can explain it to them face to face.
No one's taken me up on the offer yet.

So to all those out there who think we do it on purpose, believe me, if I planned on ripping anyone off I would take them for a penny, they'd be stood there in their socks. Carless.
I find it's new pumps I struggle to get an exact round pound on. Don't know if it is to do with the type of display and how quick it updates but I still get a bang on round figure (if I'm bothering to try, which isn't often these days, usually just fill it and be done with it) with the older style pumps. Which is odd, the slightly older pumps are still a digital display but I find it much eaiser to get it roll up in 1p ammount when I get close to the magic £XX.00.

However, I do take great pride when I time it perfectly to release the handle and get the perfect £20 or whatever. No taking it to £19.80 and creeping up, just blast straight in at £20 on the money, followed by the Tiger style fist pump in celebration.

Ok, I'm a sad bar steward that takes great pleasure in the smallest victories in life loser
It's because people are always in a hurry and demand that the pumps dispense as quickly as possible. I've had older pumps that work slowly and get people complain that they are too slow. Can't win!!

I'm with you on the race to £20 and stop dead without slowing down. It's a small victory, but one non the less.

I normally only do full tanks, so whenever it clicks + whatever it takes to brim it.

Towards the end of the month I tend to put in whatever I can afford, so go to the nearest Pound (or when I am that poor, the nearest penny!).

Little bit pointless putting in £2.84 worth of fuel into an RX-8 though, it uses more than that to get out of the petrol station! :P
