I recently bought an Audi S3 8L, under the front seats about £20 in change, under the rear seats a flyer price list for alibongo.co.uk where all types of non-gardening seeds can be bought. I was amazed to find the car cigarette lighter still works. Pity the seller had lost the locking wheel nut though, that cost me £50 to get the wheels off!

Oh and a Miss Marple Investigates story tape 2 in the cassette radio of a Lupo. I posted it back to the lady who owned it before (I bought from a garage). Received a lovely letter of thanks back from her, she must have wondered how the crime was solved!!

While cleaning my Father in laws work van as a surprise (I enjoy cleaning cars!) I found a porno mag in the door pocket.

Don't blame him, having to live with my Mother in law wink

200 Euros in 50 Euro notes and what I think is a heart monitor watch, and an electric air pump in a little bag complete with torch. The rest of the stuff from that vehicle was the more boring, sticky sweets, hair clips, pens etc. Could not return the cash or the watch as the person I bought it from had left the country - did go towards the replacement 4 tyres I put on it.
From my current car a letter in a glove box containing the sales persons replacement credit card. I was good and returned that.

Went to look at p38 Range Rover's with my Dad, at one very dodgy looking dealer we folded up the back seats to discover 3 or 4 small calibre pistol bullets...it was a black RR with very dark tints, not that it lived up to any stereotypes or anything!

In my old Skyline I found a Japanese coin under the boot carpet. I know it's a tradition of Japanese drivers as it supposedly ensures a safe journey so it was returned to its place.

In my recently aquired Navara I found a 'To my Wife' Christmas card in the the storage in the back of the drivers seat - the car had seat covers on so wasn't noticed when I bought her. I haven't yet cleaned the interior and the other day my girlfriend found a black thong down the side fo the drivers seat. Thankfully they were so dusty it had clearly been there for some time.

I'll probably email the previous owner to ask if he wants the items back!

There are worse things to find.

Mates cousin once came back to find her car stolen, but the thief didn't like her choice of music. Her Michael Bolton CDs were left where the car had been parked ....

I bought an 8 year old 27,000 kilometer S2000, from a bloke who was leaving the country. He left during the deal, & I picked the car up from his son.

In the boot was a folder with every bit of paper the car had ever generated, even down to the receipts for the CDs in the changer.

In a Rover P6: a load of Big Country cassette tapes under the passenger seat & in the boot a bunch of water damaged porn mags.

In an Audi A8: 5 BBC Songs of Praise CD's in the changer (they went back to the previous owner who thought he'd lost them for good).

In a Ford Sierra 1.8LX: an unopened packet of 20 Bensons tucked away in the glove box, a £5 note under the passenger seat, and in the boot in a plastic carrier bag a selection of business cards for certain ladies offering services of a personal nature.

In a Capri: loads of spare change under the driver/passenger seats (about 8 quids worth IIRC).

Rover 216 Vanden Plas auto(!)

Bought for £550.

Drove it for a hot week in summer of 2005 before a foul smell overtook the car. Lifted the boot carpet to find a tesco bag containing a bottle of milk and packet of shaved ham nestled in the spare wheel and fairly ripe.

Few weeks late had just left Norwich for a 3hr drive home when 2 mins down the road I was swarmed by an infestation of small black bugs that were emanating from inside the drivers seat. Had to turn back and vacuum them out.

Great car. At 100 it was overheating. At 90 it was right as rain. It wouldn't do 105, no matter what.

I opened my bonnet a couple of days ago to do some routine maintenance and found that a rat had made a home in the lining of the bonnet...

Not my car but a friend who recently told me the story after telling him I have bought a classic mini.

He bought a old NHS mini that the district nurses used to use for home visits etc... He said evey time he went over a large bump he would get a jab in the back side. He investigated rubbing his hand over the seat, checking down the back, nothing??? scratchchin this went on for months until he had enough and removed the seats outer skin to find 3 hyperdermic needles were the cause off him getting a jab in the are over every pot hole!

Yesterday I found 15 Centimes under the carpet in my 205 GTi.
Must have been dropped by the French dudes that built it who were subsequently enraged and decided to fit substandard seals to the rear 1/4 windows and make it leak!

Some years ago bought a Renault Feugo just to get to college (motor bike was not very good on icy winter roads). Took it as it stood off a dealer who had taken it in as a p/x.

When sorting out the electrics (yes, believe it or not a Renault with electrickery problems!) I found a stamped, addressed letter containing a previous owner's C.V. and job application letter. As it was about two year's old I just binned it.

On another occasion my Mother asked me if I knew why her engine was rattling and upon opening the bonnet I found a ratchet handle with socket and extension perched on the inner wing. It belonged to the garage that had done some work on the car a few weeks earlier and had remined there throughout her 500 mile round trip to Devon.
