I always wondered what kind of person who would own those replica Ferrari.
Surely that's the most obvious question you could ask, no?The answer is the kind of person who desperately wants to own an exotic Ferrari, but can only afford Ford Mondeo money.
There's no point in trying to tell them that 308 GT4s and 412s are the same price as their replicas - these people didn't grow up with photos of those cars on their bedroom walls.
You might not agree with the ethos or the aesthetics (neither do it), but surely you can't fault their enthusiasm for cars, no matter how misplaced.
The thing that confuses me is that the cars they are based on (Porsche 944 or MR2 as mentioned above) are decent cars in their own right and if you spent as much time/money on doing up the base car then it would doubtlessly be nicer to drive, look better and you'd get respect from your peers (do you want the respect of anyone who thinks these are genuine Ferraris?) rather than ridicule.
Also, none of the above cars would drive or sound anything like the car they are meant to be a replica of, unlike a Cobra or D-type rep.

While I broadly share most people's sentiments on here, the 250 reps at least have nice proportions (even if very different from the original) reminding me of the OPEL GT and are rather pretty, shame that such a shape had to be replica-badged.
Surely there would be a larger market for these if the kits were manufacturer-badged and all the too-obvious 250-cues such as the scoops etc were removed leaving the basic outline.
