I had a 355, 360 then 430, all Spiders. Fantastic cars but each new version was wider than it's predecessor to the point where I had to get bigger garage doors. Also I like to drive the very narrow country roads near my home. When the 458 came out I decided not to buy as for me it was too big. Now the 488 is bigger again.
Surely there has to be an end to this, the cars can't keep getting wider?
Very pretty car tho.
As wide as the Testarossa (512 TR)?Surely there has to be an end to this, the cars can't keep getting wider?

I hadn't liked modern Ferrari's for a while, then they beefed up the California and I thought it looked amazing (one was in town today and sounded great too), now this - really thinking Ferrari are in a bit of a golden age, anyone would think they're trying to attract new investors.... Oh wait...

Hmm, the side profile is nice and the front is a big improvement over the 458 but the side vents look odd and the rear end is awful.
And does anyone think that interior looks good?
The 488 Spider seems to look better with those side vents vs the 458 Spider, though the 458 Speciale looks better than the 488 GTB with the side vents. And does anyone think that interior looks good?
The interior kind of reminds me of the Honda S2000.
I couldn't have one with that engine. I would have had a 458 in a heartbeat, but I have zero interest in this. In one step a car goes from being a highly tuned atmospheric to a numbers-by-committee turbo, and where's the excitement in that? The turbos of the 80s were pushing the technology, whereas now marketing picks a number and the IT guy writes a line of code for the face-lift.
It's a bullst emissions legislation which should have no power over low number sports car manufacturers. We're doing our best to make sure petrol cars go out with a whimper, that's for sure.

Now you're talking. A 308gts ? Wonderful, a car with real soul, and not contrived at all.
Indeed but in no way comparable with a 488.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
