A friend used to have a series 1 escort rs turbo a long time ago that was registerd D---DAS can't remember the numbers In between, I wonder if it's still about ?
There were around 50 Series 1 RS Turbos on “D“ plates, I had one of them for a while - D121WDO recently resurfaced after restoration with surprisingly few miles on it . Our Swift is an unusual one. The facelift model came out September 2010 on a 60 plate, but ours is a pre-facelift registered May 2011 on an 11 plate.
I originally thought it was just because they kept the automatic going longer in the older shape but I've since seen a couple of manuals on the 11 reg. Having said that, in total I've only ever seen 3 or 4 other Swifts in the same guise but countless 60/11 plates of the facelift car. I've been told by the Suzuki dealer that our car was one of the very last registered in the older model.

Ledbury Maestros which as far as I remeber were built overseas and didn't sell leading them to be imported and sold as new cars here. I pity the person who bought this new in 2001.
What a heap of st they were - just look at the state of that. What a piece of junk.

Think there's a few late registered TVR's knocking around, bodyshells and part finished ones that were bought by dealers after the factory shut its doors and then finished off /built up with new parts and registered as new.
That would make sense. The original run of the Sagaris was 2005-2006, but when the factory closed there were several unfinished cars, including just body shells.
There was also a "Sagaris 2" prototype touted around for a while, which rather controversially was allegedly built from a part-finished customer car whose owner, it is alleged, was never refunded their deposit and down payments. Or so I heard. Allegedly.

Sounds odd.. I thought a car registered in Belfast would be treated the same as any other UK car, but just with NI dateless plates on it? I would've thought the same, however, the last of the e39 tourings were on a 54 anyway so there's nothing unusual about an 04 plate one.
