RE: 250 orders for new TVR
Discussion
It will happen and im sure it will be great for us TVR fans, if he goes after the big boys in terms of the complete package with over confidence and thinking he can build something as good as a Ferrari/mclaren he will look a fool but if he keeps it tvr, stunning, different, loud, raw, light, fast then he will have a nice little future.
But it needs to be good fun, made with proper testing and built to a good standard.
Its goin to get hype, be in all the pappers so he needs the press cars to be spot on, give it to likes of Mr Harris to burn the rubber and get a million hits on YouTube.
I want it to be a British z06 that would be great

I drive a lot like an old lady to be honest but most of it is in central London. And the three point turn totally caught me out - it was a bit wet and I've driven some quick cars but the M5 is crazy. Done 20k miles in 18 months now - Amazing car but totally daft for what I am using it for! Actually went in to buy the i3 but the wait was 6 months and I just couldn't get on board with the range anxiety / looks of the i3. With the M5's, I'm sure other owners are averaging early 20's mpg. It states 28 average cycle !!! lol

If you drive a lot in London, 16mpg is pretty impressive. The few times that I have driven in heavy London traffic, I have seen about that from Porsches that are much lighter and less powerful! I bet the M5 sees about 10mpg in London, 18-20 in normal town driving and 28 out of town. About right? With the M5's, I'm sure other owners are averaging early 20's mpg. It states 28 average cycle !!! lol
I3 mings so badly. Plenty of time for electric cars once proper cars are banned.

Indeed. By way of comparison, Alfa 4C took 3 years from 'expression of interest' deposits and a Geneva concept car to the first deliveries. That was with the might of FCA (along with the engine and parts bin) already behind it.That said, you could just pay the deposit on a credit card, sit back and enjoy the wait, with a fair degree of protection (Section 75) if it all goes titsup

The optimist in me would like to think towards end of 2017 for the first cars.... Given the chassis has been modelled, the engine prototype has been agreed, if not run. Things not done afaiaw are the rolling bits, external frock and interior. Concerted effort over the next two years followed by first customer QA could see it just make the time frame....Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
