Car trends that you hope die

People on car forums who moan about advances in technology used on modern cars.....
Betting none of them use a 1980's Montego as a daily "because it's more pure" or "because they don't burn people's retinas"

People are never happy. In 25 years time people will be looking back on 'stuff' now in the same wistful way.
Frankly I'd love to go back to the mid 80's with low 20's mpg in 1.6 Escorts with massively fast 9 seconds to 60's time, rampant front torque steer, no creature comforts and the safety standards of a Congolese diamond mine. Eeeeeh but they're light!

Not strictly a trend but BMW indicator stalks, they're awful, Vauxhalls as well, however I think they use normal stalks now.
Yes, they are always on the wrong side, on manuals anyway.Brake pedals that cut the throttle.
Tyres that a far too wide for the power output.
60 shades of metallic grey.

Stupid tiny turbo engines...you want to go fast N/A big engines is what's wanted.
300bhp £30k hot hatches, WTF is all that about way too powerful and way too expensive.
Really?300bhp £30k hot hatches, WTF is all that about way too powerful and way too expensive.
So giving people a choice of a regular run of the mill car with the same performance as something supercar-esque from 20 years ago is a bad thing?
You can still buy n/a big engines cars, you just have more choice.
You don't remember the mid to late 90's when there were no bloody fast everyday cars due to insurance and chav theives?
And what about the fast turbocharged cars from the 80's and 90's that everyone salivated over such as the RS Escort Cosworth, 5 GT Turbo, Audi Quattro, Skyline?
Bit of perspective needed.

Things that I'd happily see the back of;
TESLAs and other electric or electric hybrid cars from a prius to an i8
Sloshbox autos when we have perfectly good dual clutch systems now
Heads up display and other digital gauges - I much prefer to look at analog dials for RPM and speed
Anything which essentially drives the car for you; RADAR cruise, auto emergency brake, automatic parking, etc
Virtual oil dipsticks on an electronic screen- I much prefer checking oil on a physical dipstick
EPAS as it feels like a playstation steering wheel

The fktard that came up with the idea of lighting up the dials permanently so the oxygen thieves who cant tell they are driving around with no lights on. Anyone who drives along when it is raining/dusk/dawn/foggy in a dark car with no lights on should lose their licence for a week!
Rat look just looks stupid
Stanced, stretched tyres and excess camber
Any driving assistance except maybe ABS

ooh, there are some of my favourites already here:
bling/ jewelry approach to car design
flat bottomed steering wheels
those affected indicator/ DRL arrangements where the light dims to allow the indicator to be seen- file under bling/ jewelry
cars that prevent you opening the door and reversing carefully into place- you can drive, you can open the door but you can't do both simultaneously
in appropriately massive wheels. 20" on an Alpina 3 series- Alpina were all about not putting massive wheels on their cars, just nice large ones
touchscreens- jesus wept, what an awful idea in a car
excessive exhaust pipe counts and tail pipe "dressing". Audi S3 anyone? Even a current Audi RS6 has the dressing thing- two facking great ovals, with small round actual pipes cowering back inside them. A Porsche 911 used to get by on one exhaust pipe!
Basically all boils down to getting marketing out of the driving seat of car creation for me.
