Tried to get steelies for a CL55 a few years ago, but no dice. Had to go with cheap winter alloys.

I got myself some new steelies for the panda 100hp to temporarily replace the alloys which need a refurb. Painted them in the shed with matt bronze just because.

For me, they look good on cars that left the factory with them. Otherwise they look pony in the same way that after market alloys do. Some of the motors on this thread have a hint of unmarked police car about them too.

All proper Landies should be on white steelies just like the 'Britains' model one I had as a kid... Zebra striped bodywork optional though!.

I love steelies but the sad truth is that the odds of having alloys nicked against the cost of replacing broken or stolen wheeltrims makes them less economic ;0

They can look awesome in the right colour/size on the right car tho - from this very website I give you

Does anybody else like banded steelies? I miss these but the amount of camber needed to get them under the arches meant tyres didn't last 5 minutes! 16x9 & 16x11

Steelies are one my guilty pleasures as well, that 1 series looks ace as do all the others on here, thing is, the options are now nice alloys on certain models or if you pay more or alloy castors, steel wheels seem to be rare.

I also like cloth trim, not the scratchy cheap crap you get in place of leather if you dont tick that box on a 3 series or similar, but full on velour, leather has its benefits but its hot in summer, cold in winter and just isnt that welcoming and really, it isnt that upmarket nowadays, everything has it, most of it looks like vinyl anyway.

Steelies and cloth, its the future, pity the only come on cars devoid of any kind of other luxury, the old non premium barges like Omegas, Senators and Granadas could be had with plenty of toys and nice cloth, but no, nowadays, spend more than 20 grand and its pleather all the way.

oponeo.co.uk They are multipla fitment I believe, same size as original alloys (6x15) however offset is 5mm more (31.5mm) so they stick out 5mm less than alloys. Part number is Alcar KFZ 7835.

They phone you up and tell you that they won't fit your car to cover their arses but they do fit, no rubbing etc.
