I'm not sure how long a thread volume lasts but I anticipate selling the Lexus LS 430 and buying a new car tax free within the next 6 months or so.

It'll probably be a Volvo. Or a Mercedes. Or a BMW. Or maybe an F-Type. But most likely a Volvo. (The new 60 looks good - any thoughts?)

I feel as though I'm about to let the thread-massive down.
Not at all- someone has to buy the new barges to form a ready supply for us bottom feeders in time for Volume 37.

Having said that I’ll possibly be departing from 1-5 soon and looking for the best, lowest mileage LS460 I can find. But.. but...., I’m thinking a 3 barge solution would cover all the bases just as well for half the money. Maybe a pampered and gleaming X300 for visits to thatched roofed pubs, a scruffy S124 for Sunday morning tip runs, and the LS for when I need to get to the other end of the country quickly, silently and reliably. Either way, I’ll change my mind tomorrow.

Yes please:

It is. Once in, there's no escape. I now have a velour fetish and am prepared to wind my own windows. Mark my words, this could be you ...
I'm hoping I can resist the craving until a full African Dictator spec one turns up smile That I could live with.

On board again. Time flies when you’re having fun.

An excellent start to Vol13 folks.

The 300SE above is very nice and praise be for Car and Classic finally improving the picture format for their ads!

I have news.
2 one way tickets bought. Flying to Norn Iron on Thursday and driving back via the ferry on Friday. My dearly beloved current old bus is now listed on the Bay of Dreams.
I should confess that, even by thread stakes, this is less heroic than it seems. I know the car I'm collecting because it's my dad's XJ.
I'll try to get the obligatory filling station shot.
Thread Jag count +1. BMW count -1.

Round our way we look at green fields and woodland and say "I remember when it were all slag heaps round here..."

WELL, I loved it. One of the best cars I owned.
Unfortunately, I knew a divorce was coming (which I am going through now) so I was working my way down from a 996 C4, so i only owned it for 4/5 months.
Regularly got 30 MPG, silky smooth and almost silent.
Facelift, Monaco Blue - did everything very well.

Yesterday, I made the unfortunate discovery that my car feels a lot smoother at 'pressing on +' than it does at 'pressing on' speed.

Checking in to this thread.

I still have the W220, the ebay sale didn't go through in the end, will update the advert and stuff and re list just as soon as I can be bothered. Or keep it.

When are you thinking of selling, I bought a Mini Cooper S, a LR Freelander, both are great fun but neither waft, the LR is relatively comfortable but the mini is not.

ETA; therefore I need a barge too.
