Bugger , I thought I'd be looking at Chamois recreation , not some 'ass engined nazi slotcar' as PJ O'Rourke put it .
But I would sell a kidney , perhaps one of my own , for said ass engined etc

Is it a Porsche or is it a Singer? Porsche aren't making anything out of this, so I'm just wondering what they actually think of it.
It’s as much of a Porsche as any other modified/resto-modded 911 is still a Porsche. It’s nothing to do with them what an owner chooses to do with his 30-40 year old car

And you would both need a trailer, when either:

a) it overheats and the cooling system eats itself
b) somehow it doesn't but you need hauling out of the nearest ditch

The vents, ducting and aero will be needed on this car and isn't just a styling gismo!

Dear Lord that's something special...

Not sure I want one of these with modern Porsche performance tho - if I wanted that I'd - err - buy a modern Porsche for a lot less money!?

I realize the key to niche car building success is making things that people with "more money than sense" will buy - for as much as possible etc. etc.

Originally, Singer talked about using the early cars to enable them to make bits for 'people who couldn't afford the whole car' but reality is that they've just gone up-and-up-market and that's fine - someone else will make the perfect PRACTICAL 911 I'm sure...

Doesn't this car miss the point?

If you want really bloody quick you buy a new supercar/hypercar, if you want character & involvement you buy an older car & enjoy it for what it is.

Just don't get this, despite really wanting to & having a life long love of most things 911.
you've utterly missed the point. Lightness, handling, control, feel, feedback... all things moderns don't have.

bozzy.

If you want both, along with a dash of exclusivity, you buy the Singer.

you would have to seriously love old 911s to buy this thing

I'd prefer that kind of work up on a 356

Loads more photos here:

The level of craftsmanship and the attention to detail are obscene.

It's weird, as it looks a bit fussy in the photos, almost like there's too much detail to take in in one glance. Yet in the video those details all look much more cohesive.

I first thought I'd like a hybrid original/DLS with the styling focused towards the old school and the tech from the new. But after watching the videos I think I'd need one of each in my ultimate dream garage.

It's stunning but I am surprised they are making 75 of these. I would have thought this was one of a kind (they must seriously be ramping up production because I can't imagine how many hours go into making one of these?)

You really have to see this thing in the flesh.

It does look a little fussy in the photos, but in reality it's very cohesive. There are so many incredible details that you just find yourself staring endlessly at it with your jaw on the floor.
