I bought a used tyre on eBay
Why.People who know what they’re doing buy new tyres in axle pairs.

That’s not where most used tyres are coming from. Most of them come from continental Europe by the container load.
which used tyre factory would they be coming from in continental Europe? HustleRussell said:

Corrected that for you. Also you don't need limitless funds to be able to maintain your car with new service parts.
Don't bin it, in this case I wouldn't hesitate to submit a 'item not as described' case - as in the damage wasn't described (but is obvious)
That way the seller will have to pay to return the tyre, learn their lesson that they need a full description of the item, and bin it themselves.

Part worn tyres... never understood the concept! Saving? Really? If you drive a car with some performance and you can’t save say £300 for a pair of good quality new performance tyres over say 3 years of average use then something is wrong with your finances!! The OP drives a TT, don’t know the vintage but he doesn’t track the car but wants SuperSports... well that’s fine but worn super sports are probably worse than new Pilot 4. Have gone through some heat cycles may even be 4-5 years old so the performance of those super sports is much lower than a new set.
I would be fitting good quality NEW Sport tyres that work very well on the road if I wanted to save some cash. 3-400 every 3 years is not that much to save IMO. Not worth it... new tyres for me.
