That sounds insane. Just imagine the noise if it had a proper manual gearbox......subirg said:
What a debacle this car is. Ferrari were struggling big time when they cane up with this thing to help shift a few more. The fact that they had to dig out the Crown Jewels GTO badge to sell them is just embarrassing. It’s a bit rubbish to look at, it’s too fat, and it’s way too expensive for what it is. Jay Kay’s vastly superior F12 TDF sold for £605k at the weekend with only a few miles more on the clock. This thing has no right to be over £500k.
Don't buy it then ... or maybe you should make them an offer for what you believe it's worth. A1VDY said:

No matter what they say, I have always found this a rather cynical application of the GTO moniker, when you consider what wore the badge previously. The 288 GTO was on my wall as a kid, and would be a Euromillions purchase in a heartbeat if the numbers came in. This though? Just another special edition 599 in my mind: sorry!
Agree - sort of felt like they did as little as possible to justify it being a "special". Sort of felt the GTO moniker deserved a bit more....SimmoJon said:
A truly lovely thing but 700 grand! Yet another example of a 'collector' offloading his investment to make more room for the next special edition that he won't (or can't) drive. I find the whole cycle quite distasteful.
100%.I am of course jealous of said collectors. If it was me I would buy 2 of every car, one to thrash and one for "investment" to pay for the other.

Maybe so, but I'd probably do it if it made me £500k over just 10 years for effectively doing nothing. It's a collectors item. It will be low-loaded onto a trailer and moved to another air-conditioned room to sit for another 10 years.
Still, I bet that's just what Ferrari expect of these cars.
It would take an incredibly strong stomach to drive it knowing every mile is going to literally take thousands off of the value.
