Modern Classics Magazine - The Resurrection!
Discussion
I’ll be going and picking up a copy. The stuff in practical classics has always been too old / covered a million times before but if they have a setup with modern classics (which could grow, I presume) then it’s worth a punt.
In recent times I have reflected on what I appreciate when it comes to car media. If we want these mags to be an option for us, we have to back them and buy them and hope they develop to full strength. Ignoring because they are imperfect at the moment will consign them to history.

I feel the same as you. I've bought every copy of EVO since early in lockdown simply because I know we'll all miss it when its gone and despite its flaws its a good read. Modern Classics stood out as something different and refreshing. The other classic car mags, with their constant attention on the 60s, 70s and 80s stuff which has been done to death, rarely interest me!In recent times I have reflected on what I appreciate when it comes to car media. +1......picked up my copy from Tescos this morning. Wouldn't normally go out of my way to buy Practical Classics. Saving it to read on Xmas day so lets hope it doesn't disappoint!!!In recent times I have reflected on what I appreciate when it comes to car media. EVO offered a cracking deal at the start of lockdown. 12 issues for £36 plus a couple of bottles of autoglym, cloth and sponge! I think a lot of mags at £5 plus are just too dear in the shops but at £3 it was acceptable . Some issues were a bit threadbare but I think they managed better content than a lot of mags.
They are plugging the first issue on social media, out 1st April.
Not shy with the pricing, but hopefully you would get what you pay for...

Thanks for that, I'm not on Facebook so would have missed this!
As said, they're not shy on the pricing even with the 4 for 3 ! I think i'll still give it a go, I enjoyed the old one and think the quarterly format may actually be good for them if they can use the time to work on the editorial and production.

Hello all, thanks for the interest. Page count is 216, which is around the same as other quarterlies, just in case you were wondering...

Guten Tag. Haben Sie den Inhalt für 4 Magazine? Ist es sicher, sich für das Jahr anzumelden? <goes back to translating old German press releases with Google translate>

I went to subscribe, but it’s set to auto renew each year and no option to not auto renew so I’m going to give it a miss thanks.
I’ll forget in a year.
Hadn't seen that.... I’ll forget in a year.
However if you subscribe and then go into your account it gives you the option to cancel on period end, which I'm taking to mean don't auto renew after the 12 months/ 4 issues.
Hi all
Thanks for the comments and continued interest in Modern Classics.
I (JJ) am continuing to keep the torch burning for the era of cars we all love and can afford. As Nathan's pointed out (our former assistant ed) you can still get your MC fix in Practical Classics every month. It's a start and we certainly don't expect things to stay like this indefinitely but if you can support our endeavours (and email Practical Classics to demand more!) we'll likely win over more pages. Who knows, we may even get a regular stand alone product.
As has been pointed out above, we really need the support from purchasing and interacting to prove there's still a market out there that's willing to part with some cash every month to get a good read.
I am freelance now working across a number of motoring outlets but Modern Classics has and always will be very close to my heart and I am ever optimistic that it will see a return again (with your support) in the future.
Many thanks
JJ
