I was under the impression E10 is only an issue in older cars that aren't used too much and the fuel just sits in it.
Potentially dependant of fuel lines and gaskets but also carburettored vehicles and vehicles without closed loop sensors might struggle with the mixture, may run lean.Personally I think a lot of people will blame E10 but they are driving/riding round with 30+ year old brittle fuel hoses etc that should have been replaced ages ago. If you use the car I think it will be okay, sat over winter I’d stick to E5 or less, even then you still get condensation forming just due to the temperature and humidity of the UK.
PS I’ll get told off now , for going off topic

Again, could this thread be kept to current supply issues please?
There are other threads in which to debate the pros and cons of ethanol percentages and their effects.
Thank you.
Like I said I haven't had an issue finding higher grade fuel in Berkshire, but FWIW when I did a driving trip to North Wales in May any sort of Super-Plus fuel was hard to find. There are other threads in which to debate the pros and cons of ethanol percentages and their effects.
Thank you.

This PH, the thread will go where it goes, you've been here long enough to realise that. There are other threads in which to debate the pros and cons of ethanol percentages and their effects.

As for your question some blame HGV shortages others people turning to super due to the E10 move and others say there is no issue at their local station (like that's conclusive proof of anything) and none of it will help you tour Wales.

When I lived in South Wales the local Tesco was out of stock of momentum maybe once a month. I seem to struggle finding diesel v power more than finding momentum or vpower 99 for my petrol.
The Tesco in Risca had no Momentum for about 2 - 3months, I went in there today and saw it was available again now. Went out earlier, went to the local shell which was on a slight detour to get there to drive in and find no V Power. Annoying as it’s the 2nd time it’s happened and the garage is on a pretty busy road so getting back out can be a ballache! It’s also very near all the car dealerships on the East side of Edinburgh so it’s maybe another reason for it running dry more often.
I went to the next Shell station in Musselburgh and there was no issues. Although when did they decide to start charging 20p more for V-Power?

Struggled to find a working 99/97 pump on the way back from Goodwood this afternoon for the Mk2 Jaguar. No pumps had any super at the Esso at Milford just before the A3 and there was only one pump out of at least 12 with 97 at the BP just north of Guildford on the A3.
Might be due to large number of classics filling up I guess?

No issues down in the Somerset from what I have seen. Our local sainsburys had all the standard unleaded pumps shut for a couple of days at the switch over date (I assume this was due to the delivery being delayed) so my ST had to have premium.
As for the "oh but your car will run fine on E10 it's all made up" why would manufactures like Porsche go out of their way to tell owners not to use E10 and only use premium fuels for pretty much anything Air cooled?
