Do the folks who own these take them on track, and if so, do you insure them? I saw one yesterday at snetterton and it was either insured (presumably costing 10x the entry fee) or uninsured (in which case I don't know how they fit through the door with stones that size!). Genuinely interested because if you're reliant on pcp then you presumably can't risk a £140k write off like a cash buyer theoretically could?

Walked past an orange one at the weekend. In the flesh it was very striking.

Not quite at the 720S level but I don't insure my 570s (£85k value approx) on track and that includes the Ring...I own it outright tho, having it on PCP would complicate things if you wrote it off on track sans insurance. It's a good deterrent to stop me from getting carried away always leaving plenty of margin for error. I look at the 720S or 600LT as potential next cars but tracking a £140-150k car without insurance is something I'd still have to think about. The 720S itself I think is a wonderful design so much going on there that is different with the headlight sockets and the air intakes hidden along the upper part of the side, much more interesting to look at than a 488.

Interesting.

In my view the 570S is the better track car.
(lighter, less complicated, less financial peril if there's armco interface)
It's plenty fast enough and has delightfully nimble handling.

720S is a real beast. 720S gets into scary fast on some circuits - or perhaps I'm just a chicken.
It's great on track but do you need to spend the extra for the increased performance?

570S is such a great option now, unbelievable pace for the price of a Lotus Exige.

I couldn't argue with any of that the 570s is already too much car for my ability level! Haven't driven a 720s or 600LT yet tho so cannot compare but its all certainly a game of diminishing returns for a fair bit more cash.

Interesting, thanks. Most of my mates with performance cars in the £40k-60k bracket get put off by the cost of the insurance and aren't willing to risk a track day uninsured. I've done a couple dozen track days now so I'm less concerned. I think they own outright too. Kudos to you for your 570s adventures - £85k would scare me.
