Pair it with the 17 year old £9k diesel Skoda that was an article a few days ago? hehe
At least that was a relatively low mileage example wasn’t it?

R8 please.
Corsas have engine problems.
VX220 are too expensive.
Insignias are dull to drive.
Monaro is great but hasnt aged well.

Not everything here fits my idea of "very Fast". I'd love a go in the VXR8 though.

That looks great, good work.

Our neighbours are on their third Insignia estate. They buy them at 12 months old, pile miles on for two years (she has a long commute) and sell them at not much less. Phenomenal amount of car for the money and I bet a faster one would be quite a good car to live with.

The boot (and I say this as a 5 estate and van owner) is absolutely CAVERNOUS!!!! There can't be much out there with a bigger boot, I'm sure.

Fast vauxhall's.as an ex owner of 2 Red tops 1st in the early 90s a G reg 16V GTE Astra followed by a 2 years old J reg GSi 2000, both should always be on a list of Fast Vauxhall's . 2 cars I wish I'd put them away and not sold them.

At 54 and many cars the GSi 2000 is still probably my all time favourite car I've owned and the GTE isn't far behind, certainly loved them far more than a 10 plate R56 cooper S I've owned.

Sooner prices in all areas of the market come down the better as £5 grand for a Zafira GSi with over 130,000 miles.is madness ok £5000 if it had done 60,000 but whoever is selling that needs to get real.

Would like to have seen a Meriva VXR on the list I've always quite fancied 1 but as a second car it would have to be the right 1 and not as if ever more than 1 for sale at a time.

The White Cav GSi owned by another pistonhead member don't suppose it's in the Wakefield area by any chance as about 5 years ago a mechanic at a garage my old man uses a mechanic there.was restoring a white Gsi , obviously me being an owner and lover of the GSi 2000 I spoke to the mechanic about his car.

The VXR8 GTS is a great car but this example is £40k max as changed hands 18 months ago for £38k
Front end is chippy as this was the Ex VX Press car for the Auto model launch in 2015

I know prices have gone crazy recently but £5000 for a 20+ year old Zafira with 130000+ miles?

Crackers.

My thoughts exactly.
Ironically, I thought it was quite cheap if it’s pretty standard / mint condition. They’re getting very rare these days, more so good ones. They’re a bit like a lot of cars that fell into the chav market previously, good surviving examples are now quite saught after. Maybe not by you, but by somebody.

I loved my Cav GSi. K reg too but in burgundy. I’d have another no problem. Price I paid when it was a few years old I’d pay the same again now for one needing restoring. Pity I didn’t keep it.

If you want a great Meriva. I’ll be putting mine up for sale soon. Let me know if you want the details?

Like the Insignia VXR in estate form.

I know it’s not the ultimate driving machine but would make an excellent motorway blaster. Just point and squirt and no one outside of car anoraks would know it’s anything other than a Vauxhall with big wheels.

Dare I say that I think it’s not that badly priced? Especially considering todays market? Yes, fuel, tax and spares will hurt a bit but I like that a lot.
Same. I really like it (but not for me to own personally).

Low-ish mileage, yes.
But a decent service history, no.
It should’ve had 17, but it’s only had 7.
Ergo, at some stage it’s gone three years without a service eek

Ooh nono, be careful, don't mention any other cars for sale soon or otherwise, I've just had my post removed because it linked to my car for sale on this very site. It's apparently perfectly fine to promote other people's cars for sale though confused as you'll see earlier in this thread.

Crackers, let's discourage people from using an already faltering website rotate.

Love that old Victor (or is it a 4/90?)
It’s a V8 Ventora called ‘Big Bertha’ and was a racing version of a planned V8 Ventora road car. The road car was canned due to the fuel crisis and when Big Bertha crashed, its oily bits were transferred into a racing Firenza called Baby Bertha.

More here: http://www.droopsnoot.co.uk/SuperSaloons.htm

As to the list - no Cavalier Turbo? 204bhp, 150mph and 0-60 in 6 seconds sounds like fun to me!

Not a positive vauxhall post warning…

Remove the holdens and lotus and what’s left is a miserable bunch of cars! Nasty interiors, confused purpose and cack styling. Over the years (mainly 90s) I really tried to like them whether it was various model GSIs, SRIs, GTEs and SRs but all of them were bettered by other manufacturers. Vauxhall are a nope from me.

£48k for an eight year old Vauxhall! I'd sooner put my hard earned in an M3 or an S4 thanks very much.
That’s your prerogative but sort of misses the point.
What is that missed point as I made the same observation?

If you're after the V8 experience you can similar vintage Merc, BMW, AUDI, Jag, Lexus V8's for considerably less.
Also struggling...
This BMW M5 Competition is 4 years younger and has less miles.

An okay list but it would look more realistic if it wasn't just the rare stuff, maybe include the Senator 24v, Nova GSi, that type of thing.
I mean everyone had a Nova?

Each to their own, but the nostalgia tax on evidence here is hard to fathom. There are other examples of hot Vanxhalls that better represent misty eyed history. Some of these might be fast, but you'd have to be a dyed in the wool fan to drop serious cash on these. Even for the partisans, they have to know there are better out there. Who knew 2nd or 3rd best tax was a thing.
