LED headlights - driver's perspective

I also - as others in the thread - drive a Merc with multibeam LED's and I find them extraordinary. Night driving just feels better and safer, but despite the clever tech I worry about blinding oncoming vehicles.

I've occasionally been flashed, but it has ALWAYS been from HGV's, and on the other side of long straights. I wonder if there's enough distance between the height of the cab itself and the headlamps that the driver might be blinded by my lights that are reacting to a source a few feet below. I'll always drop to dip as if shamed, but no cars ever seem to object. I'd love to see things from the other point of view but I don't know how to identify a car half a mile away in the dark...

Struggling to understand why you’d be on anything other than dipped beam anyway if you have oncoming traffic. Just goes to show how dim witted these systems really are.
They certainly don’t work properly around here with the undulating roads.
