Finally, a BMW that isn't an offence to design. lovely restrained look, far more classy than their current line up.

To those who say it's bland, that is an interesting perspective. Restrained and elegant can look bland compared to outright ugly I suppose.

That looks rather stunning for a modern-day BMW design.

I thought it looked pretty smart in the front offset photo, then saw the front on shot. Oh dear ! Way too much botox around the mouth.

Yey, targa top! Hope it’s the start of a (re)newed motoring trend! smile
Rather big Targa top though. Where does it fit while off?
Considering it is called Skytop as if that is its main feature, odd that video doesn’t show how it works.

Love the look of that. At last - a decent piece of design from BMW after so many years of dross.

Quite a 70s/80s vibe about this. Nice to see we might have reached peak-grille with the current generation of BMWs!
I think it's in part a callback to the 1969 Bertone Spicup

Everyone will love it until they reveal it has a 4 cyl engine and weighs 3 tonnes.

What ever it is or isn't. Someone in the BMW design department may have had their neck wound back in. Not quite back to normal yet but...Nuff said

BMW has already shown the Neure Classes.
All SUVs will have the grills upright and all saloon / sports cars will have horizontal grills.
So this fits with that new design philosophy.
I don't see any wow factor here though.
It's not an i8 or CSL homage WOW in design.

It's nice to see a slightly less cluttered design direction, but like the current Z4 it's rather... bulky looking around the middle. Like so many modern cars it needs more glass-house and less body height. The swage line where the rear arch currently feeds into the door should, IMO, actually become the top of the door.

Lazy styling, it’s just a pastiche of old 6 series and current 8 series. Not to be ageist but a 14 year old could do this…
Lazy comment. Yawn, as you always seem to say.

I’m assuming you’re older than 14, so by that token you’d also be able to do this? Please post your design work. We’d love to see.

Do you not realise how hard it is to do clean styling?

The Mk2 Granada is often cited as a good example of doing clean yet unmistakeable instead of bland.

Actually, that interpretation of the 507 grille is most acceptable!

Need to see it in the metal, but so far so promising.

Well done, BMW! (or TFFT!)

Definitely looks like a facelifted 6 series cabriolet, de-snouting the grille benefits the front end aesthetics. Design is an improvement on recent BMW's but is still pretty bland and conservative.

inteestingly understated and elegant design. A bit design peter out at the rear but apart from that, very elegant.

Thank you god for hearing out my wishes.
If anyone at BMW is reading this: Yes! More of that please!
