TVR FTW.
I love Jap cars but I don't find the new GT-R very sexy. Seems too heavy and over-engineered, non-manual (meh), all that stability control etc. Very capable on a track of course. Very wide and big for a daily (expecially in the UK), otoh it has real seat in the back for 2 more people.
TVR = a purer driving experience.

Justin, i've seen your old T350 a few times when you owned it. even got a few pics from hoons. That car was amazing and was far more interesting than the GTR (even though i love them)
there will be many GT-rs left in a few years, but Sagaris' are rare evn now. Do it! and you won't regret it!
But get it in an insanely lairy colour!

Never been in a GTR been in a mate's R33 GTR Vspec which was nice but my mates bro had a Chim 4.0 (I think) followed by his current T350 Red Rose and the TVR's are just more exciting and as others have said the Sag is a bit of British history now and cars like the GTR will be common place for the forseable future so there's plenty of time to get one of those.
The key thing is for me though is the GTR wont start to fish tail in a straight line on a mildly damp road!!!

Before you choose have a search for a thread on the GTR regarding a 10mph bump, it set off "safety bolts" in the bonnet. All in, it was over £10,000 to repair if I remember correctly & it linked to photos with only a scratch on the bumper from the other guys tow bar but still required a new bonnet after the bolts went off.
Sagaris for me anyway.

Christ, it gets slower and more expensive every time someone posts about it.DJC said:

The sag. It's a beast and no mistake.
No it isnt, its a pussycat that someone with no more driving experience or talent than a 35yr old girl who has only driven a rover 214 can drive with the ease that lets you take a nap as a passenger.Where do people get this rubbish from that it is a beast?
It is still grippy enough to drive without thinking you are going to die each time you press the pedal, but still.
To the OP: you've obviously got the TVR bug niggling away. How about you get the Sag run it for a year or two and then simply sell it on and then buy a GTR.
The GTR probably is the easier car to live with, but enjoy the Sag whilst they're still around and servicing/parts is still feasible.
I'm not saying you won't be able to get TVR parts in the near future, just that eventually they will dry up.

Unless your crystal ball has just told you that, this is a statement that is unsupported by fact. The Multipart deal stands, parts are easier to come by than they were when TVR were still churning out cars, and if one day it should cease to exist I'm pretty damn sure the independant aftermarket will take over given the willingness of TVR owners to actually spend money on maintaining their cars (an increasingly rare breed overall).I would rather have a T350 just achingly pretty and not far short of the Sagaris in terms of performance.
But faced with a choice between the Sagaris and the GTR it would have to be the TVR, it flicks all my switchs the GTR has no such effect. Also I'm very much a two car kind of person, I would always run something more sensible for the commute, shopping etc so there is no need to compromise.

Reflex charcoal on the anthracite wheels.
I dont know how many reflex charc Sags they did in the end, but if its got contrasting carbon black and cream leather interior, its not my old car is it?
One of the pleasures of ordering the sag from new was the joy of speccing every individual panel of interior surfacing and the stitching.
Your old car is now owned by a chap in Germany. There was a thread on the Sagaris forum a month or two ago, can't recall the actual topic though.I dont know how many reflex charc Sags they did in the end, but if its got contrasting carbon black and cream leather interior, its not my old car is it?
