Oh come on now. Yes I know they were on in that picture but did you really have to be such a tosser about it. So what I don't like the 458? And so what my foglights were on, when the car was parked and on private land at that!

It's certainly an awesome machine and I would love a go in one! I've been in and driven a few fast cars (M3, RS4, Sagaris etc.), but when I went for a ride in a Gen II 997 Turbo Cab (not the best 911 I admit) it just completely and utterly redefined what a fast car was to me. With the PDK gearbox it just had unrelenting, unstoppable acceleration that the cars I'd been in before just don't come close to. I've done a few miles in my Dad's B7 RS4 on the road and it's a fast car, no doubt about it, but the way this 911 went was just on a different planet. Completely and utterly addictive, although I imagine you could get into rather a lot of trouble with the law in it in next to no time! The launch control was a laugh too. I can only imagine what a Veyron is like...

I do not move in these fabulous circles that allow you to go in such amazing machinery.
However, In my lowly world, I have been on the Rita queen of speed ride at Alton Towers, and for a little bit of time, it accelerates so quick, I feel quite sick due to the force. Did the acceleration compare to that?

I'll try and answer that, as I went on Rita a couple of weeks ago. My Noble M400 has roughly the same quoted acceleration times as the 458 to 60 and 100, at 3.5 secs and and 8 secs. The initial launch on Rita to the first bend is in a completely different league to anything I've been on or in.I was genuinely shocked!

Owner of the F1 didn't really go too quick as roads aren't suitable really. He did stick it in 6th though and show me the torque. I conclude that it's got plenty!
