I've always felt that C111 was a very nice evolution of the Gullwing. Despite the clear link to the 1969 and 1970 concepts, this looks very fresh and not a by the numbers exercise cashing out on the legacy of the original SL. Really makes the SLS look the cynical, shameful marketing job it actually is.
+1

Can't imagine anybody NOT including this in their fasntasy garage line-up.

I like it, though the front looks a bit too "smiley" for my liking. The open headlights definitely look like they were taken from the Isdera Imperator.

I think I had a Matchbox superkings C111 as a child in metallic green.

This reimagining of the concept ticks the boxes for me, so much so, I've already forgotten about that 'Stratos' thing smile

I strongly disagree with this. Have you actually HEARD an SLS at full chat? I've been fortunate to have been a passenger in one and I defy anyone to experience it and then say it's purely a "marketing job" - as an ownership proposition it's a great car. As for this "re-imagined" homage concept, I love it!

the original was a very futuristic design... a very long time ago..

Not sure on this concept the back looks all wrong the holes in the buttresses are way too big, the rear lights look odd and the front looks like it's wearing a disney pixar smile.. the doors look nice but where have i seen those before? oh yeah, on about a million other concept cars and the current SLS

IMO another they should have left it alone concept..

Just want to say first that I love it. Not too sure about the front, but everything else is refreshing in a world where cars are looking more and more alike, and performance figures continue to climb.
To have something that just about exceeds 400bhp and not 600 (which seems default these days) to me, shows bravery. It's not all about power (sorry jezza).

ALTHOUGH... as beautiful as it is, did anyone else look at it and immediately thing GTA Vice City??

= )
