RE: New Spyker C8 Aileron Set For Take-Off
Discussion
Now I rather like that! Sadly, and I've just checked, there isn't a £200k down the back of my sofa so I'll have to cancel the order. My only reservation is the rather slab like dash which is I suppose traditional-ish? I agree that the steering wheel looks like it was borrowed off something else when the original was nicked!
Pretty shape though, nicely balanced. Good stuff.

One man's meat is another's poison.
I'd let the local schoolkids choose.
They all come out of school, and waiting at the lights are a Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren and the new Spyker.
My bet is last would be the McLaren (wins everything but its image is as dull as ditchwater), then a tie between the Ferrari and Lambo, while the crowd of kids gathers drooly-eyed round the Spyker!

Why is it that Pagani is so successful, if it's so obvious that one should choose a Ferrari, McLaren or Lamborghini over anything else?
This second version has had input from Lotus (parts from Evora, which will also be used in Esprit in all likelihood) and the result's very good according to evo. Their criticism is that the car doesn't feel fast enough and Spyker's looking to change to an LS9.
If I had the money, I'd definitely give this a chance. I'd like them to do something about the chrome overload inside, though.

Shall we call the Administrators now, or wait till next spring ?
I fail to see a market for it.
Would you walk past a Ferrari / McLaren / Lamborghini showroom for this Audi engined eyesore.
50 cars pa?
They'll be lucky.

50 cars per annum is tiny. From several million millionaires around the world there have to be many more than that eccentric/stupid/brilliant enough to maintain the sales momentum.
Don't worry about it - just sit back safe in the assurance on of those buyers won't be you

I’m getting a bad case of TVR Déjà vu
Especially as a Russian already has his foot in the door!My first experience of Spykers was at Wilton House in August and I must say I was impressed. I hope there is a place in the world for cars like this when people want something a bit different and - dare I say it - eccentric.
There is another parallel with TVR here too. I hope they keep the production of the Spyker low - as Morgan do and TVR should have done - and they should be okay. It is when they get too ambitious they blow it IMHO.
Mind you, you can get too eccentric, like Bristol!
