RE: PH Fleet: Ferrari 599 GTB

The GTO looks more aggressive and has rarity on its side, and is more powerful. It is about 280K though and a great GTB can be had for much less; budget 125k and there are several available. GTB has about 95% of the performance and so aiming for the GTB is a good plan unless collecting is the thing!
Thanks for the info, I won't be in a position to buy a 599 for a few years anyway, but it's on the list of things to do! Managed to meet the other goals I've set myself so let's hope this one stays on trackemicen said:
Can anyone link me to what exactly he did to piss Ferrari off so much?
I would trawl the thread but I'm not reading 11 pages of finance debate.
In a nutshell, Ferrari have an obsessive approach to journalists of not letting them drive Ferrari's unless they can send technicians to optimise the car and make sure it wins any tests. Ferrari also have been accused of sending cars to journalists that are not the same as cars that the public can buy. In short, they are accused of cheating in group tests and going to mental degrees to control what journalists say about their cars. Ferrari also get very upset with journalists who dare to criticise their cars or the control freakery the firm applies to everyone.I would trawl the thread but I'm not reading 11 pages of finance debate.
Chris got fed up with it. Ranted a bit in a public forum. Ferrari were upset and so he is now persona non grata.

The link has been posted a couple of times in this thread already, if you can't be bothered to look I can't be bothered to post it again.I would trawl the thread but I'm not reading 11 pages of finance debate.

Anybody who thinks Ferrari V12's won't continue to dump in value is deluding themselves. I know from painful experience, I've owned a few of them. The 599 is absolutely the best value "super car" out there, but it'll still continue to fall.
Don't know much about Ferrari's but that sort of makes sense in this environment. Anyone care to tell me which Ferrari, from the last 10 years, has resisted the ravages of depreciation. Thank you Mermaid said:

The F40 for a start, has gone UP in price massively.A number of the other models don't appear to be getting any cheaper either from the quick look I occasionally have.

F40 is a bit older than that A number of the other models don't appear to be getting any cheaper either from the quick look I occasionally have.
360CS has been incredibly stable and is likely to remain so. That's pretty much the only one I can think of.

Sorry for ramble guys. I'm no Harris when it comes to the written word but you get the point! I'm off for a drive - and yes my heart still beats faster and my finger tips still tingle at the thought of it.
No apology required. I really enjoyed reading it - good on you.TheAntics said:
That's amazing, I kind of figured that once you'd started a finance that you kind of had to finish it. The reason I ask is that whilst I love my S4 (controversial I know!) I want a Z3M coupe more than I want my left nut. If there are routes out of the finance on the S4 then I'd change it tomorrow.
Can anyone point a petrol head in the direction of some advice in this regard so I might access the car of my current dreams? I'd love to read about the options out of my finance.
Many thanks
Chris/Antics/S4 - I know who this is! Do it! It would be good to look out my kitchen window and see a Z3M Coupe, they're awesome cars! Can anyone point a petrol head in the direction of some advice in this regard so I might access the car of my current dreams? Back on topic it is possible to get out of finance deals, Jen got out of the finance deal on her 500 about a year early and when I sorted out the deal on my MX5 there were clauses saying how much I'd need to pay if I hand it back early.

There's a big price range also.
Doesn't stop it being a fantastic car of course.
You can't compare the F40 to the relatively (loosely applied) common or garden variety Ferrari's, same with the CS and Scuderia.
The special variants are collectors cars, the bog standard V12's are just depreciation fodder.
Not that they aren't all extremely special anyway, they're Ferrari's after all.

Look at this. Just think, for the price of the likely cost of depreciation and finance cost of the 599, this manual box ( high mileage but loved ) 612 could be owned outright.
I find it amazing how sensitive Ferrari prices are to mileage.
Surely this 86,000 mile 612 has plenty of life in it given that big money has been spent on servicing.
I'd love to see how well this car has worn its age and mileage up close.

Apart from making me desperately want to own this car, don't adverts like this make us all want to pitch-up at the owner's house and just hug him (her?) for using a 612 as intended.I find it amazing how sensitive Ferrari prices are to mileage.

Marvellous stuff.
Was this a scam? It seemed very cheap!
