Nice looking low mileage X300 XJ12 from a specialist dealer with some tasty looking stock. If you're not covering high mileages this could be the perfect daily driver. Probably the least risky way to get into a V12 too, the X300 had distrutorless ignition and a near indestructible GM 4L80E gearbox with sports mode. I loved mine.

Nice colour combo too.
A little pricey though, non?
I haven't seen a decent looking XJ12 for less for quite a while now, you do get the odd 150k miler or ratty looking one for £3k - £4k but they seem to have a healthy premium over the XJ6 and even the XJR-6. They only made 4165 V12 X300s worldwide so they really are very rare. I don't think you'd lose any money on one, but you might have to wait a while for it to sell!A little pricey though, non?
Whether one is worth £3k more than a comparable 4 litre Sovereign is a personal view I suppose. The X300 market seems to be separating out into £1000 manky 3.2 base spec cars and £4k+ decent 4 litre ones. The 3.2 really is a bit meek.

Always hard to tell. All depends on the condition, really. It's not bargain basement by any means but if it's completely pukka and had lots of recent stuff done that's a lot cheaper than getting it done on a lower priced but tattier car. If on the other hand the pretty exterior conceals a lot of shagged suspension and dripping fluids then yes, it's overpriced.
I do like the colour, I am not a fan of solid red cars but that's very pretty.

I've been watching that. Isn't it a bit steep considering the ruddy great gouge on the flank ?CharlesdeGaulle said:

I have a massive E55 itch at the moment.
This looks good (to me), cheap enough to have a few £K to spend on bits that need refreshing http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...

As far as I can see the market for the 560SEC now looks like £3K for breakers, £5k for any manky worn-out scabby shed that is actually capable of getting an MOT, £10K for anything you'd actually consider driving around in and £20K north for well maintained cars in good cosmetic condition.Edited by bob-lad on Wednesday 23 November 18:47
Lesser 126 coupes, especially 420 and 380 models are still cheap, probably because fairly ordinary modern diesel hatchbacks now eat them for breakfast and that remains important to enough buyers to influence values.

There's a very real possibility that's a car I used to walk past on an almost daily basis parked down the side of Westminster Cathedral, outside some rather exclusive mansion flat blocks. It didn't seem to move much, but it picked up the occasional fresh battle scar every few months. The rear bumper was stoved in and the panel work behind must've been damaged too.Definitely an E reg 525e in the same colour, of which there can't be many survivors.
