Rare versions of common cars

I do miss the much greater refinement of the Range Rover but I certainly don't miss the expensive and complicated repairs!
Funnily enough my neighbour went from a Range Rover Sport to an SRT and loved it, so they promptly replaced their Discovery with a Commander! The SRT's been replaced by an RS6 now but it never gave them any grief and the Commander is proving similarly reliable. I quite like the look of them, just because they remind me of the original two-box XJ-gen Cherokee.JohnWest said:
How high is high, Fastdruid? On a Chester to Nottingham run at 70 on cruise, best I managed was 34. And I was really pleased with that! Long term average is 27.
Another vote for the 2.5T Mondeo, don't see many around.
36-38... but I mostly get about 34 as well. To get high 30's involves driving like an absolute saint, driving super economically *to* the motorway, never putting your foot down (even joining the motorway) and to be honest what is the point in having the fastest version of your model if you never ever use it the extra power! I once even got >40mpg on a trip just to see if the claimed figures were achievable. I wouldn't do it again though as it involved driving at 60!Another vote for the 2.5T Mondeo, don't see many around.
Plus as 95% of my longer distance trips are for work and I only need to hit 24mpg to break even on the mileage rate, anything over that is a bonus.

I'm in the market for a new daily to last me 12-18 months that will depreciate minimally and I'm thinking something like the superb or Passat myself. I love the rarity aspect.
I drive an 83 Merc W123 230E which I bought as a daily driver for 1500€ just over a year ago. It's not too thirsty, 8-9L/100Km, and with nearly 140hp and 1300Kg it easily keeps up with modern stuff. It's quiet, hugely comfortable and I love it. I've replaced front pads and discs, changed the alternator regulator and given it a service. Struggling to find a good one now for less than 3000€.This is rarity. Get's loads of appreciative comments. I couldn't recommend one enough.

I've got a gen 8Honda Accord Tourer Type S 180 dtec in pearl white. Gen 8s are rare, with both the tourer and Type S spec even rarer, so a tourer type S is very rare, and the white on mine was only available on A Type S so it's pretty rare. There are only 500 Type S taxed at the moment, but I'm not sure if that's a mixture of both saloon and tourer.
Snap Snap Snap! Except mine is in the other option colour of 'Basque Pearl Red'.I had a Hemi Commander, it was awesome! I sold it because 18mpg, 20k a year and petrol at £1.35+/l at the time just didn't add up. The Grand Cherokee Hemi looks similarly pleasing.
Some great suggestions, I didn't know the Meriva VXR existed though I still don't want one and I was unaware there was a petrol V6 Discovery.
