He was driving too close but that was also a brake check from the other car, both at fault.

If they have video evidence it's a slam dunk conviction. Stopping unnecessarily is very dangerous. I don't understand your thought process on this at all.
So is tailgating. So never drive so close that you cant account for the other car coming to a complete halt. wink And all the other driver has to do is say his car started making some funny noises so he thought it wise to stop. Whilst it's probably not true it means its no "slam dunk" anymore and becomes an arse ache for whichever PC is lucky enough to be dealing with it. Which in turn buggers their figures for convictions. Which obviously gets them moaned at from those above.

But watch the UK Dashcam video on YT.

There's what 30 odd clips every week in a compilation. Do the Police have time to even watch that and start writing to the respective drivers? Let alone the thousands sent in my DCWs who are actively trying to create situations? Even if they don't get to court and just send a letter saying "you've been seen driving erratically, if we get more reports we will take action" its still more work for generally overstretched forces.

Sure if there's an actual accident. But most of these vids are "near misses" so don't really warrant much intervention anyway.

I'm not excusing st driving. Though I bet you and I have both done things we'd probably not recommend with hindsight. In the old days a Traffic officer would say "fking sort it out, don't do it again" now with Dashcams everything is potentially a NIP and a trip to court. And the system will grind to a halt.

As ever, I'd love to know what made fat Damien Lewis do that. Cause nothing in the video suggested any form of disagreement. But that reaction, even if FDL is a complete over reacting cock is unlikely to have come from nowhere.

He might be less angry if his trousers weren't so tight. Makes my eyes water.

I dread to think what vadrepak1234's insurance premium is like. 2 identical crashes and a near miss in one collection. That's some going.

I guess further evidence of why insurers load up for non fault incidents

As well as instigating the whole event by parking illegally and not looking when he pulled out.

There's no proof he was parked illegally. There is a single yellow line restriction there prohibiting waiting from 8am to 6pm on weekdays, and from both dashcams it appears to be Wednesday at about 4pm. However, there is no evidence he was waiting. He could have been setting down passengers for example, or stopped for some other reason. Driving on the pavement is an offence of course, but not one that anyone seems interested in prosecuting.

Parking right on the edge of a junction is an offence though. The guy in the Cayenne is a total knob. "I've got a dash cam" yeah, of you brake checking someone else to make sure they ran into you.

That bloke looks like the typical DCW Will the ins go 50/50 or would plod be interested in the brake testing, Both are at fault

BUT i would have let the vsan go instead of belting off like Hamilton at the beginning. DCW 75% idiot Van 25%

And as a rules of thumb.

If any car passes on the inside of a DCW and overtakes the chap in L! smoothly, then 10/1 the DCW is lane hogging

I've watched a few of these dash cam videos and a lot of these videos are avoidable.

You see the camera car pull onto a roundabout, you can see the offending car pull on at the same time on the next junction to the left and it seems as though the camera car aims at them, makes a comment and then uses the horn.

My understanding is you give way to the right but if you see another car that will cause you to slow down or change direction - don't aim yourself at it!

Can we incorporate the law to include the Darwin awards?

He certainly seems to be lacking in the hazard perception and forward planning department. It's tools like this that make non-fault insurance claims painful for even the best drivers.
