Wonder why the V8 wasn't used in the P38A?
Apart from the 4.0 and the 4.6, you mean?Edited by AppleJuice on Friday 26th January 14:41

Why wasn't the 4.2 carried forward as it was? What was wrong with it so that it was enlarged to 4.6 litres? Seemed powerful enough: 204 PS / 340 Nm
My LSE's performance is generously described as "adequate", would also be very little performance difference between the 4.0 and 4.3 in the same car.Fastpedeller said:
Yes he will because it's 'radically altered'
From what? The Radically Altered clause is for cars that fail to meet the 8-point critera, get de-registered and then have to undergo an IVA with a new registration date. This build pre-dates the Radically Altered rules and is registered as it's own vehicle. So it isn't altered and still meets the requirements of Historic status, and the MOT-exemption that goes with it.

Ah an interesting point. How do I get on with a Rickman Ranger (parts used were a Ford Escort once), registered as a Rickman Ranger, date of first registration 1976 - It is now classed as 'Historic Vehicle', but my understanding is that as it's had radical alteration I'd still need MOT?This build pre-dates the Radically Altered rules and is registered as it's own vehicle. But if it's registered as a Rickman Ranger it's not been altered as that's what it is. ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Half of the 100 they sold in the US were convertibles, but that one (which he's been trying to sell for about a year) is some sort of RHD development mule.Followed a red Talbot-Matra Murena up the road yesterday, lovely looking thing. Was not aware of them until I got home and did a bit of googling.

If my estimate is correct it would mean that France was kicking out these, Fuegos and Alpines at the same time. The Murena deserved better though, seemingly killed by la politique des Français.
