Lived in WA for a while. There are two problems when it rains. Firstly the locals are not used to driving in the rain which means some don't get the difference in adhesion levels on wet roads, but the biggest issue is that when it only rains very occasionally all the crap deposited on the roads is not washed off and when it rains you get a oily film created by a mixture of this and the water initially which makes some roads turn into a something akin to a skid pan. Not good when combined with the lack of wet driving experience.Dromedary66 said:

This is an old one, but I'd not seen it before. No one dies, but it does show a shocking hit and run.
