1990's Ford Verona. Brazilian apparently.

It was a joint venture with VW South America. I believe the Ford version here runs a 1.8 8valve VW engine. Proper mongrel.

I do love these South American specials, one of my favourites is the VW1500 - competition to guess the car it started out as (apologies if mentioned before)

Spot the Uno-based van in the background too.
Looks a bit Bristol like to me

There's a hint of Morris Ital or Marina in there.

That VW1500 was definitely once an Avenger - which did have that swage line in the 4 door version. What has been removed in the quarterlights in the front and rear doors..

There is no way that rear window is going to go down, very far, in that event.

Re: the Porsche Cayenne 3.2 v6

Perhaps hard to believe with today's price but in theory you could have bought one brand new for less than £36k.

It looks to me like it's the same shape, just it has a plastic blank instead of quarterlight glass

Suddenly makes the F20 M135i look slightly less of a bargain at just less than £30k.

You're not familiar with inflation, then?

£36,000 in 2002 would be equivalent to £56,000 or so now, according to the Bank of England.

We have a 3.6 Cayenne in at work and that is a vr6, despite having an engine cover very similar to that pictured and also says v6 on it rotate
