Catchment and capacity. My sister lives yards away from the nearest school, but it's full so my niece has to attend one two villages away (about six miles).
Houses in that village are £40,000-£80,000 more due to second/holiday home tax so moving isn't an option.

Fair weather cycling to school as a bus isn't provided but most parents who live a lot closer drive every day because...

"The roads are too dangerous"

...without a hint of irony as it's the school runners who are the most feckless drivers I see. silly

People who park on bends and/or near junctions when it is blatantly obvious that by doing so they seriously impede traffic flow or visibility.

And another one (sorry I know)... People who think it's acceptable to stop at the mouth of a quiet residential junction to fiddle with satnav, eat their lunch, read a paper etc. Happens at the top of my street all the time, and during the day there is always somewhere to park. Stupid tts don't even bother checking their rear view to notice someone is behind them intending to use the road. Note .... this is almost always a commercial van!

Two for one here. Blind bend and a junction.

Probably not. But this is a problem far removed from advanced driving. It is simply poor motoring skills / lack of awareness, etc.

Complete bell cheese in a C1 on the M65 earlier today. I was in a van, speed limited [weirdly] to 66MPH. Making steady progress though in lane 1, pulling into lane 2 to overtake HGVs and the like.

Slowly approaching said C1 who is probably doing about 50-55ish. I pull out to overtake, C1 speeds up slightly, but not too much, so I can still overtake. Just as I get enough ahead to pull back in (making sure there's enough of a gap between me and the C1) I indicate to pull back in, C1 starts to speed up again, closing the gap so I can't pull in. I back off so it can get ahead again and I pull in behind. Once it was quite a distance ahead, brake lights come on and it's back to doing about 50. I catch up, try to overtake, exact same thing happens again. And again. And again.

I was only a couple of miles off my exit after the fourth attempt so I just sat behind it at an indicated 50 (45 on the sat nav!!!). Other cars and wagons were passing, the driver just seemed to take offence to being passed by me!

And before anyone asks, there was no prior beef (the first I saw of the C1 was when I first tried to overtake), the driver didn't even look over as he sped back up and didn't seem to mind me being sat behind him. Odd.

P'raps he thought, being in a van, you shouldn't be doing more than 50?

Since when does a jobsworth security tt decide what foot wear you are allowed in a mall.
They are Tommy Hilfiger and were bought from the Office shop inside the mall.
I can see myself having fun with this idiot.
So what did he say when you asked why?

You did ask if there was a valid reason, didn't you. before totally over reacting and jumping on a forum to find someone else who hates people in authority a uniform?

I
I didn't bother speaking to him as the mall is located in Ploiesti and the chances of him understanding me are about 5 percent.

I took wy wife's arm ushering her into the rotovating doors telling her to ignore him while throwing a polite wave, he was now outside, we were inside. He gave us the 'stares' for a while but did not take up chase.

Why exactly do you think I Hate someone for wearing a uniform? I'm completely lost at that random accusation.
Do you possibly have an underpaid job which involves having to dress up in a uniform? Disillusional thoughts of power and authority?

I think you want the 'Council' thread.

One for the "Council Thread" but I can't be arsed to find it.

I've just been to my local chemists, understandably there's a bit of rush being a Bank Holiday weekend and people waiting are getting a bit edgy. One (I'm not sure if she's single but I pity her partner) Mum is sighing between looking at her phone while he son is looking after a little one ahead of me. She eventually gets to the front of the line and is issued ADHD medication, her son says...

"Not those again they make me sick".

...she says in a room full of people, loud enough to be heard...

"You have to take these or I won't get £330 a month PIP".

That poor kid. He is going to have issues later because his alleged Mother is a major one now.

Nope, was on the motorway, so 70 limit applies as it was just a standard short wheelbase Transit panel van (albeit with a stupid speed limiter). No speed limit advisories on the the matrix signs, traffic was pretty light and most cars and vans were happily cruising along at 70+
