I don’t know how you lot will take this one with it being a clearly modded sports car.
Considering they come with what 140bhp standard? And even the normal heavily modded / track ones only tend to have the VVTLi swap to 190-200bhp, I feel one packing over 600 is going to pull a few pants down.
I’d definitely fall for it.

If standard wheels were put on it, it would be a sleeper for me.

Is it a massive turbo that provides the power? Reminds me of a guy in California that built a mental S2 Exige that was twin charged, i.e. kept the supercharger and added a big turbo to get 600hp out of the 1.8 2ZZ.
It’s a Volvo T5 lump with a massive turbo that provides the power wink

Same fella that has the T5 Mk3 Golf.

Personally, what ever the rules state, I'd consider a sleeper to be something that pulls your pants down completely unexpectedly. That MR2 would do just that, regardless of what bloody colour the wheels are!

I loved my MK3 MR2. Always thought the chassis was wasted on it's slightly anaemic engine but 600hp might be a bit too far!

I follow a crowd who put 1.8T 20v VAG lumps in those MR2s, I reckon they'd be a lovely machine at 300bhp, enough to have major (and relatively cheap) fun, without killing yourself in the process.

My best mate’s van. It’s a US spec one with the 3.5 ecoboost (derivative of the one in the F150 raptor and Ford GT)

With uprated turbos it’s at about 450bhp but hasn’t been mapped properly yet, he reckons he might get up to 500 with it.

RWD with a limited slip diff, it is absolutely hilarious and properly quick when empty!

He was running it round on rusty steelies until recently but vanity (and possibly a lack of traction) got the better of him hehe
If only Sabine could have taken that around the Ring. Can you imagine laugh

One of my neighbours business involves putting v6 engines in them.

I’m always dubious about caddy vans. Ever other one seems to be making 350+bhp.

This one looks the part on steelies. 900bhp AWD rs3 running gear.

Does it run in steelie and black bumper format or is that just a before pic?

I don’t know.

If it was me it would be on steelies with the black bumper. I would also add a roof rack and a set of ladders with a hi vis tied to the back.

Must be a before pic, those brakes wouldn't fit under the steelies...and it's no where near as low either.

That would definitely catch your average fast car driver out.

Ok, not not as bonkers as some of the stuff here, but with the other side of 300lbf/ft torque it does ‘waft’ past stuff in a mildly comedic yet unruffled manner…..

My Fiesta St180 is a bit of a sleeper we replaced the standard ST body kit type bumpers with regular fiesta bumpers and fitted regular 16” wheels off a 1.4 titanium.

It mostly gets used on track and so it sits around a lot of the time and I didn’t want it getting stolen so we made it look like a 3 door diesel on the outside ( the twin pipe silencer is the only clue to what it really is which can be fun on the road as it’s got around 210 bhp and sticky tyres and goes very well down a twisty road!)

But that’s not really a sleeper as it’s an st180 already and not a crappy 1.4 with an st transplant? It’s just taking debadging one step further lol
