On autotrader a new Jimny up for pretty much £30k...for the less desirable auto version! Makes the one on Pistonheads seem cheap.
''Due to the real lack of supply I was going to price this car high, at like £29,999 as some are on autotrader, but then I thought I would do the community a favour and offer it at a much lower price, some might say a bargain price. In fact, it's definitely a bargain. At £24,999 I'm practically giving it away. In fact, if someone did hand me £24,999 then I would give it to them. ''

What a generous person..

£3,500 for a 1985 Astra 1.3 with only 7 miles on the clock but numerous bits missing.

Is this the right thread for this? Who knows?

Advert
hehe

Thats been for sale since the dawn of the internet!

Often pops up in the 'badly modified' thread too.

Its neither use - nor ornament!
If I had a massive business in Silicon Valley, you can bet that I'd have it on display. Only then could I justify £3500
Might sound harsh, but the best thing for that is to made into coke tins..or cookware. If it is to exist I can't see why you could ask for anything more than a tenner..okay, 50 quid. He's on to something about in a VX dealer showroom, but all it would do is gather dust, take up valuable floor space and become a liability.

Scrap it. Sorry.

You couldn't even justify the cost of making it a complete car again. I'd strip the engine, seats and anything else which could find a home, sell them, then scrap the carcass.

That’s lovely, I’d love to see Nissan do something like this now, I believe these had 276 bhp with AWD back in the early 90’s, that must have been insane!
220bhp.
Still crazy, standard Golf GTI’s come with 230 standard, a lot heavier than that and they’re very quick
Just reading the RAC blog about them. They sold 75 UK cars as they were too expensive. The rest are cheaper used imports.

The GTR was fast back then, but even similar powered much heavier modern cars like an Audi S1 are much faster.

What you have said is sort of true but I think you may be overlooking how well engineered these were and also how tune-able they are. Last year a friend of mine imported a modified Japanese one. It's knocking out close to 400 bhp. He has owned numerous Subarus and big bikes but says nothing compares to how insane his Pulsar is.

When I was younger it was all the Japanese cars that were all popular in the performance and tuning scene. Lots were capable of big power outputs and lots of tuning companies. The Japanese side of things has faded out to be replaced with the VAG scene.

There did used to be quite a lot of imported GTR as there was just about every Japanese performance car in the 90s.

One thing that was obvious was they weren't reliable. It wasn't uncommon to see them breaking.

£800 over priced, or shall I say, 125% over priced which means it’s ‘seriously’ overpriced

Are we getting that tedious that £1200 is overpriced? laugh

A quick glance and the few £500 Golfs are mostly spares or repair.

Seems ambitious, but hardly worthy of this thread.

C'mon it's got a gearbox in full leather and the subwoofers have been lowered.

He needs the money to buy some punctuation.

Now I'm old enough to remember when these were new - £400 would buy the original assembly kit and radio equipment.

Anyone fancy a guess how much for an unopened box?

Why did he put all his effort into a 1.6? Such lack of vision of forsight.

Got another one for you!

£8500 for a Civic Jordan.
Now i'm no expert with Civics but surely £8500 will put you in a EK9 Type R

Don't get me wrong , it looks like a lovely thing but that price seems a tad steep for what it is.

Crazy how people recognise something as a potential investment, but build in the future profits in to their own current price.
