There are obviously different models at higher prices.

A quick look threw this up immediately at 15k over list.

The advert says that’s their demonstration car and isn’t available for sale until 2023

Perhaps click bait to get people in ?

Here’s an identical one that is available to buy TODAY and it’s 59k .. which is pretty much list price +/- and offered with a finance discount

Or perhaps you prefer black ?

For £58k

I look after the company cars for my place of work, at the moment most manufacturers are 26-42 week lead time depending on spec and manufacturer. Once we’ve placed an order we’ve started getting calls from the lease company saying they have xx in stock for immediate delivery but at xx price.

It wouldn’t surprise me if this is a new scam they’ve come up with to rinse commercial fleets. I can’t see any retail customer paying so much over list - are Skodas really that desirable these days?

Margin instead of volume equals higher prices and premiums over list price. Manufacturers make greater profits .

This is the way many manufacturers are going.... said this last year.
I disagree. As soon as manufacturing catches up with the backlog of orders, they'll be chasing volume again.

Also vehicles going for over list price makes no difference to the manufacturers bottom line, the difference will go in the sellers pockets.
But how long will it take. Longer than most peoole think I suspect especially with the current headwinds facing manufacturers atm.

On the over list ££ point it ultimately depends who owns the franchise e.g. as you know Porsche own several UK OPCs others are major dealers e.g. Pendragon and Sytner also some are independently owned.

Well they're doing a great job with that Enyaq. Until today, I'd never heard of it.

Probably more desirable than Jasper Carrots assessment.

Wouldn't get too excited about a Skoda personally for obvious reasons but they are meant to be reliable if rather dull cars.

rofl

Yes, maybe so but you can actually buy those .. the one you posted isn’t for sale .. so its irrelevant

Anyway they are just two random examples of the 44 on auto trader .. the cheapest ones being under 40k

Erm … no 22 plate

Why do you type 'manuel'? You didn't answer the question.

Its old motor dealer slang, people refer to a car as “Spanish” short for “Manuel” which is short for Manual.

I was always confused by “Jimmy nav” on Toyota’s about 10 years back.

To be fair when I saw you mention it I thought it would be Lookers demo cars. They have been doing it for a while as they can’t sell the cars due to demo hold time so they just make up a stupid number, they we’re doing £65k Golf R’s last year.

In reality I doubt anyone is actually paying more than £1000 over list for a pre reg Skoda

I see one regularly - sleek it is not. It appears to be as wide as it is long. It's billed as an SUV but looks like a bloated Ford S-Max. Anyone paying £70k/£80k needs their head looking at.

Why would they need to do this? Surely demand is sky high and they should just keep raising prices with no discounts....

There's trouble at mill (well the railway actually) with a national strike looming. Will that increase or decrease demand for cars?

This must only be a dealership thing to build an order bank for next year as nationally BMW are struggling for cars. BMW along with a couple of other manufacturers have dropped most models from the Motabilty scheme and have reduced business support terms.
