you’re wasting your time with this one. John has some weird obsession with cyclists. I think one turned him down once and he’s never got over it.
hehe

And just to point out there's nothing inherently wrong with riding in the middle of the road. This was the Runnymede Interchange, J13 of the M25.

The lane to the left, that I had been in, was M25 only.

I was actually contemplating getting across to the rightmost lane to do a U-turn, because I'd got confused by signs for Staines and ended up following the A30 rather than through Central Staines. I decided that it was infeasible, and resigned to following the Staines Bypass instead.

The chap in the clip, in contrast, seems to be unwell.

Having a clear out of the HD and found this from years back.

https://youtu.be/ObD4K3JcEi8

Couple of seconds earlier to the corner, or if I was in a larger vehicle, things would have been nasty, no chance he was stopping in time.

And another.

This time someone sails straight over a roundabout without giving way.

Yes: pot, black, kettle, I would suggest!

A van(?) that avoided that truck in the first clip is not too large to circumnavigate a mini roundabout!

Probably!

Dodgy Drivers.

Some terrible driving at 8.20. All that keeping left when not overtaking. The Mercedes driver perhaps cuts in a little closely in front of Phil and takes it to an extreme, but I suspect he's been stuck behind Phil for a while and is making a point to him about keeping left. Phil has put his foot down to stay involved with the guy and then blanked out all the speed and location data on the video.

Wow- that Merc driver is a fecking liability, that looks more than careless driving there. If he’s previously been held up that is still no reason to drive quite so dangerously. Wonder what would’ve happened if Phil had a bit more power to close the door on his dangerous lane changes rather than being quite so restrained and giving way.

Phil is an idiot. No anticipation and planning, no accommodation. If you're keeping pace with someone like this over a prolonged period, you should know exactly what they intend to do, because it's what you would do, differences in lane discipline choices aside.

Lots of opportunities to play nice here and make room for some cooperative driving.

I also think it would look much less bad at normal speed and with normal vision rather than possible camera foreshortening.

I know it’s the fashion on here to always blame the DCW, but you think the Merc driver has done nothing wrong?

Not exactly, no. I think it's hard to tell, but it does look like some moves that are too close for comfort. I don't need to validate their driving to blame Phil though; blame isn't zero sum.

I think it would be interesting to get more context on the situation as neither are blameless.

Who's to say the Merc driving hasn't been sat behind this Phil bloke for miles whilst he refuses to move left or overtake in any kind of hurry. Gestures exchanged? Phil winding him up or vice versa.

The Merc drive is seen on camera changing lanes in a less than ideal manner but that Phil guy could have just left it, backed off and left the Merc to get on with it rather than insisting on keeping up. Also would be good to see what led up to it rather than just the Merc changing lanes slightly too close and then Phil following him.

This.

It also appears that Phil is trying to stop the Merc from re-emerging by sitting in his blind-spot after he pulls in / trying half-heartedly to close the door, and effectively creating the incidents.

Merc driver should probably have known better, but I'll wager a good few virtual beers that Phil created the initial aggravation and Phil created the situation for the Merc driver to act...less than carefully...

Flanders.

It wouldn't have been an issue if the DCW had actually gone around the roundabout...

Sorry if it's been posted before but that video amused me and shows an example of bad driving and skilled or lucky driving:

Nederland dashcam, normally more quality over quantity compared to the UK compilations, but a couple of standard DCW stuff thrown in.

I agree - while the car was in the wrong, the DCW should have been slower and positioned 'behind' the car more by not cutting over the mini roundabout
