RE: Toyota GR86 UK pricing confirmed
Discussion
I must say it's a very nice looking car. Didn't hate the looks of the first one but it always looked a bit like the wheels were too small and just not very pretty. This new one looks very right in it's proportions.
I'd love to have a drive in one. In my head a punch turbo charged 235bhp would be pretty cool. I guess in my head like a turbo hot hatch. Would like to see how the N/A engine feels though.

Think I'm going to book myself a test drive when available. Not in a rush to buy, and can't decide what next car I actually want so can wait for now or next year if I have to.
Despite not liking white cars, the pearl white really works on it so would have to be manual in pearl white for me.

Rear seats won't be an issue for me. Day one they'll be folded flat and never used.
To make it go faster? From what has been explained to me, the online orders and dealer orders are the same. In that, online orders still need to be manually processed and entered by someone at Toyota UK. So the online deposits that have been taken are just holding deposits.
The backend ordering system that Toyota use hasn’t had the GR86 added yet, so no orders can be placed yet.

For those of you who have ordered directly with Toyota online, after placing the order did you get an email from Toyota asking for your bank details so they could make two small deposits into your bank account to help identify you?
I did and found this quite odd - I’m going to phone them to see if this is correct.
By the way, I went for a manual in Sapphire Blue.

I didn't get an email asking for that but when I logged in to Toyota.co.uk the car was listed under 'purchased' and in the detail they asked for ID and bank details to perform identity checks. No transactions that I can see though.I did and found this quite odd - I’m going to phone them to see if this is correct.

If thats correct then ask your dealer provide you with an order reference and an ORCA reference. The backend ordering system that Toyota use hasn’t had the GR86 added yet, so no orders can be placed yet.

You got both ordering online along with completing a credit check.
Im wondering if Toyota were planning to release this as online ordering only, but dealers taking deposits has caused an issue.

Car also shows as purchased on Toyota's UK site with order number.

Sometimes you wonder with so called “mistakes” likes this whether it was all planned, with a car that has basically no options do toyota really need to sell through dealers?
I've bought a lot of cars in my time, and the drivel, lies, and stupid comments I've heard from sales people has become boring.Online ordering has none of this.
I'm all for it.

Me too...when it works! Problem is currently that the nominated dealer is not interested and Toyota GB were apparently in a meeting at 12, 3pm and would call back but never did so quite a lot of people are a bit confused as to whether their order has actually been accepted.Online ordering has none of this.

Their customers bought in good faith, not the customers fault Toyota let the site go public before it should have done.

Same, I haven’t completed the additional checks still. Car is showing purchased though when I login with purchase number. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
