Given the not especially low mileage and rotten sills and arches I'd say this is a good 30-40% overpriced, but it's the War and Peace description that really gets me... and he's another one who ''won't just sell to anyone, even if you turn up with cash''

Yes.

this car has been a labour of love, and really has had no expense spared when it comes to parts, servicing and detailing.

The car is far from standard, and has been loved over the last 5 years - with no expense being spared on both tuning parts, serviceable parts, and detailing. The car is extremely well maintained.
..but apparently slapping some Bilt Hamber Dynax or WaxOyl on the bits that actually need the most attention was too much like hard work so I didn't bother with those and now it's a rot box underneath and I want shut of it quick before it gets any worse. hehe

Then it's" only a fool and his money " Etc or"paid way too much " only to be proved wrong... just get back to the thread with basic classifieds were we could all have a laugh....yes

Looking at How many left there is 1.1k licenced 205 GTI and 5.2k on SORN.

I think lots of cars are overpriced at the moment.

What happens when the market peaks out and some of the 6300 owners want to cash in?

Looking at Autotrader some the 205GTi have been on sale for ages.

The 1.9 "investment opportunity" up for £11,990 has been on sale since July 2018 on Auto trader.

But only a quarter of that on their own website, still overpriced.

Seriously expensive yes, but not really seriously overpriced for 1 of only 28 speedsters made, and the other one currently for sale is 'only' £50k cheaper hehe

Do these Zagatos ever sell for that much? I’ve seen a few of the normal Vanquish ones on AT, all for 600k plus and they never seem to sell. Do people buy them, put a silly price tag on them and hope for the best?

I’m not saying they’re not worth that money, they are to the people who buy them from Aston Martin but I’m not sure I’d be happy to spend that kind of money on a Vanquish with a different body that I haven’t specced myself.

The 1.8 million one is a joke, I don’t care if there’s only 2 in the world. You can buy a LaFerrari for that much, drive it and not lose money.

I'd guess these sort of cars get passed about collectors like fine art, with no one ever driving them. frown
Seen a few of the 'normal' Zagato Vanquish out and about but the Speedster is the rare one, there's 99 of each of the other ones, which is still a load rarer than the 499 La Ferrari wink
Are they really worth so much more than the standard £200k Vanquish for a (debateable) pretty dress?

Problem is these days there are so many specials & limited editions that they’re losing the very thing that made them appeal.

Aston are on record as saying the specials contribute about half of their profits (when they make any) and plan on making many many more specials. They’re 99 cars as that’s just under the limit for full homologation / type approval.

Meanwhile Ferrari have said they’re not doing limited editions any more apart from Icona series after all the trouble with customers over the TDF.

Strange world

This has been up for sale for quite a while. Guess the price wanted speaks for itself. When I win the lottery, I might make a sensible offer!!

Yours for only £2,750,000 !!!

Been on here a few times that.

It looks very smart in the photos and I imagine it cost a lot of time in money to get it into that condition but I don’t know why the seller didn’t invest that money in a more desirable model?

Indeed. Same cash into a 3.0 GTV would have been a much better idea.
