It'd at least make a lovely driveway ornament.

Love the advert

Ebay Ad said:
Firstly, the transmission is behaving a little erratically after the battery went completely flat during the original lockdown. Changes are a little jerky, particularly in lower gears. In addition, an error code comes up on starting that reads "Electrical System Failure - Please go to dealer). This is very common after dead battery (do a search), and can be corrected by the dealer, apparently.
Translation: So a probable catastrophic fault can be fixed with a quick trip to the dealer but I've tried that and it didn't fix it. So if that isn't scary enough for you it's also a Cat C.... Will the aircon work after a regas as well?

We need to get the A Team if we can find them, or Zombie and his father, fettlers of the 'Wedding Dress' Maserati 4200GT and various Alfas including a Cosmos blue 147GTA.

I was thinking the price started with a 4, but now thinking price starting with a 3.

I clearly need sectioning, I'd much rather have the QP and risk it.

Over thread but it's a 4.7TT in brown with an engine management light on

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011-Mercedes-CL500-4-7...

Strong pricing considering the engine could be scrap within a hundred miles... Lovely colours of course.
Listing has been ended:

This listing was ended by the seller because the item was lost or broken.

If I could have that interior colour combination with Exclusive Passion leather in mine, I would be very happy. I even don't mind the brown.

Still, mine was 3k more, with higher spec, 30k less miles and fully working biggrin

The seller declared: "The fault code is P001885 ("The position of the intake camshaft (cylinder bank 2) is implausible relative to the position of the crankshaft. There is a signal fault or the message is faulty.")

It could be just a cam sensor but as said, he's ended the listing.

Oh it could absolutely be a doddle job to sort, if you can get to that sensor, but it could be catastrophic like a cracked camshaft.

If you were selling a £10k car with the EML on you'd spend £100 changing the cam sensor wouldn't you.

Could be the chain stretching or jumping a tooth?

No, I haven't either. I suppose the thread answer would be to buy it anyway, but the sensible one would probably be to agree that the seller should fix it on a viewing. biggrin

Had a lovely winter drive this afternoon after being stuck at the desk all day. Windows down, sunroof open, heater blasting and heated seats on. Lovely!

Looks great, needs 'old font' plates.

The "lost or broken" line in the ebay listing tickled me. As did the seller's BS about I am not going to commit to fixing the car as I am selling it line, like the Merc specialist who did the code read wouldn't have said "that's only a £100 sensor".....

A quick google suggested could be timing is out, usually, longer to crank is one of the symptoms.

Timing chains are the main flaw in the M157/M278 engines, aswell as oil leaks. Other than that, pretty reliable.

Where I can’t remember where the ad is, Ph I think, the well photographed C216 which has a RR thread and seemingly some good work done to it is still available seems.

Yes, I remember his thread. It's been well-cared for but the silver/black combo is not for me. A good buy for someone though
