In a similar vein, I saw V 61 on a Range Rover Sport this morning.
Are plates like these really early issues or is that not always the case?

The M 42 plate was on the 42nd car registered in Cheshire after 1903
A 1 was the first plate for London in 1903

I know this because I have M 600

See it in Mayfair any time I pass through tbh.
Used to be on a Bentley Turbo R.
Always imagine an ex-RAF bloke with a big mustache and flying goggles driving it!
Isn't the RAF Club near there somewhere?

It is indeed, near Hyde Park Corner according to Google Maps.

Saw D 87 on a Merc ML350 - would have worked better on an Aston!
Also T3 NTH on a Swift.

BEE 1 near the river Trent, north Notts.

The following all on the A1 around Newark:

UVA 1
1 PTB
AN 4
P3 TRE

..And also something that in italics that looked like 1 UND on an SLK, but can't seem to get a match on any registration checkers. It was the wrong font for this thread anyway but I am interested as to what it was. Sadly seen travelling in the opposite direction on the A1 in Nottinghamshire, so didn't get a great look.

I don't think it does. It came up on here before ages ago and someone knew something about the owner.

I saw "Bo Bo" out in a Range Rover today, in Hartley Wintney. Didn't have the make up on, or the massive shoes, as far as I could tell. Although Chester E. Barnett has long since passed away.
