Yes, the young classics are getting silly now, price wise. Forget fast Fords, that seems to be a niche market, but boring ( even when new) stuff like that Cavalier is typical or better! I looked at a noted classic outlet in North Yorkshire and, despite a few " peaches" in trade parlance, the majority were dreadful rust buckets - as they are highly likely to be. We are deluded and suffering from chronic nostalgia if we think otherwise about mainstream 70s and 80s stuff.

I'm not entirely convinced it is a genuine AMG either.

Badges on the boot are the wrong way round for a start
It could be an AMG, although iirc the c36 wasn't released until MY 1995..... so this could be a 94 registered C36 AMG, which would make it pretty rare....

This is insane pricing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-Peugeot-205-1-6-GTi...

It's a 1.6 (which historically go for notably less money than 1.9s). It is a Phase 2 (the least desirable, IMO). It isn't concourse. It is nowhere near "the finest example to be offered for sale".

It's really nice, and original, and if you were after one it would be certainly the best available right now. But you'd be absolutely off your tits to pay 23k for a Ph2 1.6!!

How much!
Come on, seriously?
It is the Connoisseur version though. If Terry Thomas was alive today he'd snap that up in a second.
Ah-ha, now I see the reason for the incredible price hike!

You can buy a proper car for that money.

EDIT.

.

The wheels are completely hideous and it's gold.

WNB (Would NOT Buy)

Oh God! I've seen into the Abyss! I've seen what Hell looks like. yikes

When I die and get sent to Hell that's where they're going to send me...to work for eternity...at Hursley Hill Garage! Just look at the car marques they're franchised to:

http://www.hursleyhillgarage.co.uk/pages/new-car-o...

That would be my absolute nightmare...

"Please God...No! No!...I'll be good for ever more...please don't send me there...pleeeease! weeping"

Reg comes back as an E320 with 220 bhp and a 3.2 litre engine, not a 3.6 with 370bhp, and as you say badges are on the wrong way around, always thought they had a spoiler too?

Has this been covered?

This dodgy bloke was shown on german TV a few weeks ago trying to sell his creation,
covered in gold, chrome and those fake adhesive diamonds. Cost him about 100k €

Link to more pictures, unfortunately only found on german sites

He asked 3.5 million for it, no offers

Re: the twenty-five-thousand-quid asking price for the 1.6 205GTi above. A mate had a tidy example, similar miles, a few years back that I think he paid £250 for. Drove to work in it, kicked the scheisse out of it on a few trackdays, cubed it at the scrappies, walked away happy.

£25k? Popcorn, GO!.........

You best get counseling or next you will be buying an old Rover 214 like mrs Bucket had, as a collector car. Drove to the edge of sanity I tell ye.

Their entire stock page is full of ridiculously overpriced old Rover's and MG's!

I can only imagine that they have a lot of loyal elderly customers who have no idea of the actual value of what they're buying!
