Incidentally, did you see that this happened over the weekend? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GZYOK8G2ro

Notable for how sweary Rick is - I thought he was such a nice boy - and for Taylor Hawkins, as always, looking like an Afghan hound that has just been told it's getting steak dinner

Sorry for O/T.

And for the new post.

They might also want to crop the image so that it doesn't show their email address (in one of the other tabs).

Interesting story. What's your theory on how your car's registration got involved in the mess in the first place? You actually were there at the same time, but he mistook one Vectra for another?

I honestly believe he took longer than he thought pulled over checking his car or whatever he was doing. Then I drive past. There's nothing for me to see as the other Vectra has already scuttled away. His car means nothing to me, because who remembers one parked car on a 100 mile journey two weeks previously?

Then I think he gets going again, believing he's in "hot pursuit" and I just happened to be the next poor sap he comes across with a car that fits the description. I mean, back then there were thousands of them in that metallic gun metal colour - it seemed to have been popular with fleets and lease cars. I very rarely went on a journey without seeing a "snap!" or two. There's also the (remote, given I never found myself paying someone else's parking fines or speeding tickets) possibility that it was cloned. Or the more likely possibility that, as an ex-fleet car, there were several batch-registered together and "his" one had a similar number plate to mine and he's mis-read it. As I've said, I don't deny being on the road at that time. I drove that way most Monday mornings back then. But it certainly wasn't me involved in his collision, and I don't remember seeing anything resembling the aftermath of a coming together.

If I'm honest I don't know why me. I drove myself mad about it at the time, and I was so angry I planned to visit his address at one stage to set fire to his car, but I came to my senses before it got out of hand. What I was most angry about was not being believed. I mean, yes I've lied in my life (sorry I'm late - stuck in traffic; no dear, your bum doesn't look big in that; etc) but not about stuff that actually matters. I'm not good for much, but i take pride in my honesty and my integrity.

Anyway - that's old news now. Let's get back to waiting patiently to see what the outcome of the OP's case will be...

Utterly ludicrous. Does make one worry about courts. Out of interest, was your car ever inspected for accident repair relating to the claim?

So chaps, ITS THE OP!!!

I went in, literally there for 10 minutes and case dismissed!!!! Walked out relieved!

I didnt even get to have a say as the judge focused on the simple fact that she had no contract of law, she gave a letter to the judge which read the money was hers and thats why she was claiming it back however the judge stated the actual buyer is not in court so "I simply don't know what your doing here" and on that basis its dismissed. The ACTUAL claimant is welcome to reapply however judge didn't think it was best as he wasn't present to show any interest attending court to begin with.

She then argued and said she wants him to look into breach of data protection? Judge stated, its very technical and although she can take some course of action its not something which he would recommend due to being too technical and dropped that side of the claim too. Now I assume she's seen this post but looking back I haven't breached any of this anyway, name etc is data protection surely as it was to see her history with the courts etc.

I counter claimed for 2 days off work and judge rewarded 2hrs pay (for hearing only) so £20, paid for my parking biggrin

Case aside, I would like to thank you all for your support and helping me remain calm throughout. Of course will share my experiences with others going through a similar phase as I know how stressful it can be... Respect to all of you!!
