Of all the angles you could pick to support your case, that's the last one I would have chosen.
How about this then ?

I suspect this will be a long way down most peoples' list, but I definitely would! Decent bit of luggage space for Euro-hoons too

Not that far down! Lovely things!

Looks like that 106 XSi was sold... anyone going to own up?

959 just wonderful things, so ahead of their time. Had a 20 min passenger ride in one as a teen and it's lived with me ever since, I know now they say the sequential turbo set up never really worked properly but back then it felt so damn fast.

959 is a fabulous thing isn't it, I don't hanker after one in the same way I do an F40 for example but I certainly wouldn't turn one down. As you say, bet it would be great for a euro jaunt driving

763bhp in this wee beastie.....

The Canepa cars are nicely done, but you lose the sequential turbos and adjustable suspension, and they’re two things that were cool in 1986.

I wonder how one would compare to, say, a 997TT?

Is it better looking than the very similarly styled 308 or 328 though?
Yes

Of all the angles you could pick to support your case, that's the last one I would have chosen.
This is a good angle.

As it's the motoring equivalent of that old tennis player photo with bum on show.

The 288 GTO is, after all, a pumped up homologation derivative of the 308. As such, that is exactly what it is - a steroidal 308. I don't think it's better proportioned or better looking than a 308..

Of course, but that’s the answer to the question.

... and not the first pumped-up 308, “Millechiodi”:

Well you're wrong... wink and while we are at it the F40 is just a road version of the 288 GTO Evoluzione

Car Mag did a feature back in 2000 with 959 vs 996TT. I seem to recall that, despite not a huge difference in outright performance, the aggressiveness of the 959's delivery (noise, thrust, etc.) made it far more engaging

959 or CTR though? Hmmm...

(Apologies to all for 6-cyl supercar chat, and hopefully it's not viewed as an oxymoron wink)
