Thank God that’s in Cardiff and I’m in Cumbria.
Bargainous..!! Why no heated seats I wonder.
No winter pack - you can see it also doesn't have the headlamp wipers, perhaps an even more heinous omission from a Volvo of this era.
Also no mention of spline replacement, so would need checking for 2wd, but even if it was, still good.

No comment on this car, but I had the Ocean Race XC90 with the V8 for a couple of years... it was a very nice place to be for the money.

At SOTW money that's a no-brainer for anyone that needs an estate. The Ocean Race versions were good, and come in that very fetching Blue which looks great. Lack of Winter Pack is no biggie at that age and price.

Regarding the Volvo, I just noticed a week or so ago while looking at an advert for an S60, that they have that extended piece from the bottom of the B post where it joins the cill. I assume that's a side impact, occupant safety thing?

Thanks for discussion on elderly LS400s corroding.

a ruinous amount of car for £2500 really, its even right hand drive
I actually took one of these for test drive. It thought it was an awful lot of car for the price it was offered at. Unfortunately, it just turned out to be just an awful car. A lot of it stemmed from the fact that it was wrong end drive. The interior plastics were pretty shocking, too. It's a shame, really because the engine was/is a belter.

I find it odd that every time these are mentioned on UK forums people praise the Northstar engine and yet in the US they hate them.

I don't normally take a word the guy says seriously but Jezza actually said exactly that in his panning of it in the original Top Gear. Shoddy tat with a
belting engine

Same reason a lot of the US thinks BMWs are junk - the long-term reliability is poor, especially with the local expectation all you have to do for the first 100,000 miles is replace the oil every once in a while. The Northstar is famed for head gasket failures once it gets past the 80-100k mark, which on a transverse V8 is "scrap the car" repair costs.

But it comes with its own scatter cushions, which is almost up there with the optional doilies for the Toyota Century.

Trailerable at that price, only 3* what he’s just spent on tyres!
I’ve just realised how miserable things are when we’re all happy to find an old Volvo at “normal” money.

And a year ago, recent spend on this particular one excepted perhaps, this was pretty much normal money!

Are they scatter cushions if they match, or are they just cushions?

I suspect there won't be many people on this thread that can answer that. Or who give a st.

I am thinking about selling my 2000 Accord 1.8S with 70k miles on the clock - starting bid of £3999 anyone?

Virtual beer for the first person to call a Mercedes/Maybach dealer and ask, "the cushions in the GLS600, would you say they are scatter cushions or just ordinary cushions?" then no matter what answer they give respond, "oh. That's disappointing. Thanks anyway." and hang up.

Just been on the configurator and specked that particular one up.

Wait for it . . .

£217k.

£18k for two-tone paint. £18 thousand actual pounds?

Year 2020 pounds are obviously very very different from yr 2010 pounds. Sadly I’m still paid in yr 2000 pounds!
